Atley's Journal

Atley ate two servings of whole wheat toast and ate grapes for breakfast.  Moments before breakfast she said, "Gary, I eat at home so I don't want breakfast."  "What!?! No toast or grapes?!?"  She said, "Actually that does sound good."  Haha.  For lunch she ate a couple bites of pork roast, ate bread, most of carrots, and ate her mixed fruit.  This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon and Atley was the only one here for snack; and she was taking a few liberties with hat and sunglasses at the snack table.  Haha.  I think this is a super cute picture! Atley ate two servings of whole wheat English muffin and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of chicken, ate brown rice, bite of stir fry vegetables, and ate mandarin oranges.  Breakfast conversation: Atley asked, "Hey Gary; you your Grandpa with Gideon?"  (Love the phrasing!)  Yup, I'm Gideon's Grandpa.  Then Lauralea did something in the kitchen and Atley said, "Lauralea's a bit clumsy cooking today!"  Haha.  We got a big laugh out of that one! First thing this morning Atley said, "Alexa play Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer."  She said, "I love this song."  She followed that up with; "Alexa play Christmas songs."  Haha.  Then later she asked for "Fall out Boys."  Holy rip!  Where'd you learn about these guys?!?  She said, "From Avi."  LOL.  Sounds too much like punk rock for me.  :) This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when Atley and Nora were building a "...

Atley ate cheerios and banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat hamburger bun, tomatoes, two servings of olives, and three servings of watermelon. Atley brought a mermaid "thing" from home and of course Nora was wanting to play with it.  Atley said, "How about I play with it for a little bit and then you play with it for a little bit?"  Nora said,"No, that takes too long!"  (Translated; that takes too long and I want it right now!)  Haha. Atley ate brown rice and two servings of raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of salmon, ate whole wheat dinner roll, cauliflower, and two servings of mangoes.  Breakfast conversation with Nora;  Nora said, "I'm gonna do swim lessons in South Dakota.  They have a pool in South Dakota." Atley said, "Well my Dad is gonna work and my Mom and I have to think of something to do, but we didn't quite think it!"  :)   Nora said, "So you didn't know!" Atley ate two servings of whole wheat English muffin and two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles topped with two servings of applesauce, and she ate her peas.  Coral came upstairs during lunch time and the kids were excited to see her and were  ALL talking at once .  Totally cracked me up.  Everyone vying for her attention!! And they just kept getting louder and louder.  It was SO funny and sounded something like this, but all yakking at the same time!! Atley: "I have two apple trees and a pear tree!" Avi: "We're getting a new kitchen!" Nora: "We have a camper!!" Svea: "I have Frozen 2!" Cal: "Hi hi hi hi." Atley ate two servings of whole wheat toast and three servings of watermelon for breakfast.  For lunch she ate Hearty Paleo Stew with meat, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, and tomatoes.  She ate two servings of saltines and two servings of tropical fruit. At breakfast the conversation was all about swimming with Atley and Nora leading the way, but Atley also questioned Svea about her swimming abilities.  Haha.  Atley and Avi have been doing swim lessons so swimming has been a big topic around here!!  (Avi was not here to participate in this conversation because she was at swim lessons!!) Atley; "Can you make your head stand underwater?"  (LOL) Nora; "Yes." Atley; "Can you jump in the deep end?" Nora; "Yes." Atley; "Svea, can you jump in the deep end?" Svea; "Yes."  Haha. Atley ate waffle and grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of chicken, ate whole wheat tortillas, two servings of corn, and two servings of baked cinnamon apple. First picture; Atley asked if she could bring her blanket in the Daycare Room to share it with Callahan.  (I think maybe it's a towel, right?)  So this is what the sharing looked like.  :)  Actually Cal likes things like the doll blankets over his head and he was doing it himself later.  Following picture; Hey there's nothing like a good tickling to start your day!!  :)  Cuties.  At breakfast these two were again proclaiming their love for each other.  Very sweet. Atley ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground turkey, whole wheat hamburger bun, no avocado, bites of cucumber, and no cherries.  Atley and Nora were discussing clothes at breakfast.  Cracks me up.  They are seriously WAY more interested in clothes right now at age 4 than I've EVER been in my 65 years.  Haha.  "Nora, is that a new shirt?"  Nora said, "No, I had it for a long time. I think I got it when I was a little kid."  Atley said, "Well my shirt has a hoodie and I got it at Old Navy."  I Love it.  And this is a very common discussion. Atley noticed that Miles was sitting up.  And like always they will see something several times, but it never really clicks and  then  they see it!!  Atley said, "Hey! That's the first time he sit!!  (it wasn't) I said, "Yes, he's doing a great job."  Atley said, "He is doing lots of tricks like we do!" Haha.  Yes the little people h...

Atley ate oatmeal and two servings of baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of hamburger stew with meat, green beans, carrots, and tomatoes.  She ate whole wheat dinner roll and ate apricots. You will see in the first three pictures it's Atley alone and then Atley with two of the smaller ones. Today is Birthday number 1 for Miles so Nora went shopping with her Mommy and got here about 10:30.  Avilene was at Swim lesson and got here about 10:30.  First picture: Atley actually played at the Doll House by herself.  It's not the first time, but it sure doesn't happen very often!!  :) Next picture; Atley was jumping off the igloo and Svea was just jumping!!  :)  Atley interacts with the little people very well.  She occasionally has to be reminded they don't understand as much as she does, but overall she is great with them!  Following picture: Atley had set up camp with pillows in the legos drawer and at one poin...

Atley ate French toast and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of pulled pork, two servings of whole wheat toast, ate peas, and two servings of watermelon.  At breakfast this morning Atley asked Nora, "When is he (Miles) gonna be 4 and go to swim lessons?"  Nora immediately said, "Oh, in a couple of weeks."  And she spoke with great authority.  Haha.  That answer apparently made total sense to Atley. Two or three times I've heard Atley talking about "going to space."  She told Avilene; "I want to be an astronaut because I never saw space."  Avi, of course, knows what it takes to have a career as an astronaut.  Haha.  Avi said, "Well first you have to get an astronaut suit.  And then a helmet."  Atley said, "AND the spaceship."  Haha. Outside yesterday afternoon Avilene got stung by a wasp.  (I think that's 4 or 5 times she's been stung in the last two years and she's the only one!!  G...

Atley ate two servings of whole wheat toast and ate mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef with marinara sauce, whole wheat spaghetti noodles, riced cauliflower, and two servings of fruit salad. Atley and I were watching Explore.org and the Grizzly bears are feasting on salmon up in Katmai National Park in Alaska.  (The salmon are running hard right now if you're interested.)  Sometimes the camera will zoom in while the bear is eating the fish and as you know Nature is sometimes not real dainty.  The bears are peeling the skin off the flopping fish.  Atley said, "I don't really like eating live fish."  LOL!!  That was SO cute.  Nope, I don't either Atley.  I like my fish cooked. Atley ate blueberry bagel and three servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate shrimp, two large servings of brown rice, ate stir fry vegetables, and ate raspberries. Picture left over from yesterday and this was SO adorable when I realized what Atley was describing in detail to Svea.  This was a very serious story!!  Momma Megan shared how Atley was  really  scared of going potty in one of the Forest Service Campground Toilets!!  Atley got very brave and hanging on to the rail while going potty kind of saved the camping trip!  When I took this picture I could hear Atley saying, "There is a rail you can hang onto!!"  SO SO CUTE! Next picture:  This is also from yesterday afternoon outside.  All 4 girls are in the geo-climber along with all the balls (big and little), plus the noodles and accessories.  Then they decided to start throwing little balls at each other.  It was all good fun and no one got upset. ...
