Atley's Journal

Atley ate two servings of kix cereal and ate mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground turkey, two servings of whole wheat hamburger bun, no tomatoes, bite of avocados, and ate cherries. First picture:  This is pretty much classic Atley this morning; being goofy and acting silly rolling around on the floor.  :)  She saw me grab my camera and was trying to roll over so I couldn't get a picture.  So I was holding her with my foot while I snapped a photo.  :) Well Svea and Linnea started off the day right where they left off on Friday.  Slinging all the blocks off the shelves.  Haha!  Look at Linnea in the picture; it looks like the stack of 6 blocks is getting the best of her!!  Atley joined the little ones as she likes having some chaos too! Atley ate brown rice and two servings of raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of hamburger stew with meat, carrots, green beans, and tomatoes.  She also ate two servings of whole wheat dinner roll and two servings of apricots. First picture: Hey, I have to post a picture of the kids waving at the window about once a month, right?!  Waving at Atley's Momma Megan.  After this picture Atley and Linnea played in the chair and filled it with LOTS of toys.  Why so many toys?  Atley said, "Because we're going camping."  And they had their purses jammed full too.  That part looked pretty realistic to me!!  Haha!! Atley ate French toast and most of dried plum for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pulled pork, two servings of wheat toast, ate peas, and two servings of cantaloupe.  Thursday is Lauralea's "work from home day."  She was leaving the kitchen this morning and said, "Well I need to get to work."  Atley said, "You forgot to get your clothes on."  Haha!  (Well actually she was dressed; but not with her typical work clothes.) First picture:  Well I guess you can never have too many stuffed animals on your lap.  Shortly after I took this picture Atley said, "We're going to a cupcake birthday party Linnea."  Then she asked Linnea, "Do you like cupcakes?"  Linnea said, "No."  Haha!  Second picture:  Atley and Avi were in the preschool room working on putting some "chain links" together. Atley ate three servings of whole wheat toast and ate mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she did not eat any ground beef with marinara sauce, ate whole wheat spaghetti noodles, half of riced cauliflower, and half of fruit salad. First picture;  Atley always plays with Linnea when it's just those two here!  (Or those two plus Callahan.) She's showing Linnea where to find the door bell and how to make it ring.  (I believe she already knows about it Atley, but that was sweet.  Ha) Next 2 pictures: The kids were being rowdy and scattering blocks again; that is a favorite activity and Atley is one of the main instigators.  I like how Linnea is looking up at me; oh oh everyone, we've got company!!  Haha!!  So we built some sidewalks and they played on those for awhile. Atley ate two servings of toasted & buttered whole wheat bagel and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate shrimp, three servings of brown rice, ate stir fry vegetables, and two servings of raspberries. Atley ate half of bran cereal and ate her raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, whole wheat pita bread, avocado, olives, and ate her pears.  I think I may have mentioned this last week, but Linnea said it again today.  Atley was done with breakfast and said, "I'm done Gary."  Linnea said, "You're not done!"  Haha!  Silly kids. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend so as always the kids were busy on "Toy Exchange Monday!"  Atley was totally excited to see some new tutus and she wore a polkadot tutu all morning and finally took it off for lunch.  :)  First picture; I think we have 4 different containers of doll house accessories so this is a new set.  This was an amazing yard sale find.  It was a large tub full of great accessories in very good condition! Atley ate a large serving of cream of wheat cereal and half of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of baked beef kabobs with meat, peppers, pineapple, and zucchini.  She ate brown rice and ate pineapple on the side.  At lunch when Atley said, "Gary I'm done" Linnea said, "You're not done."  Haha.  Silly kids. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon when the kids were "painting" the sidewalk with water!!  (That was probably the last time we'll do that activity this summer because they always get a little wet.)  Svea was totally participating in this as well and having a blast, but notice how her roller left her even though she still has the handle!!  Haha!!  If you could see this in "Live Mode" you'd see it go rolling across the sidewalk and it's by the grass.  Haha!  (Stinking cheap rollers from the Dollar Store!!  Haha!) Atley ate two servings of waffle and ate fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of shepherd's pie with meat, potatoes, green beans, sweet potatoes, and carrots.  She also ate bites of whole wheat tortillas and ate her cherries. This morning Atley, Linnea and I were talking about "ice cream flavors" and I was asking them their favorites.  Linnea looked at Atley and asked, "Do you want to come to my house and eat gummies?" Hahaha!  It was so cute.  Also along this same theme....Avi was talking about going to a "candy store" and of course that totally interested Atley!!  Haha!!  Atley said, "Can I go with you?"  Avi said, "Yes, as long as you stay with me!"  LOL!!  I roared!  I wonder where Avi heard that! Atley ate two servings of French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of Whole 30 Chili with meat, tomatoes, peppers, tomato sauce, and sweet potatoes.  She also ate half of whole wheat dinner roll and ate tropical fruit. First picture: This was shortly after Avi and Svea arrived and they were looking at books in the chair while Atley and Linnea were spinning the chair.  That cracks me up how the ones in the chair can just stay focused on the books or whatever they have and act like they don't realize the chair is moving.  And maybe they don't realize it!!  I'm much more easily distracted than that!!  (Lauralea says it's "attention deficit" haha!) Atley also played with the flashlights, headlamps, and binoculars.  (She and Avi were taking turns with the binoculars.)  I love the way Avi asks for the binoculars.  There are four very distinct syllables.  "Can I have the "biii-knock-leeeee-rrrr...

Atley ate toasted whole wheat English muffin and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate no pork chop, two servings of whole wheat toast, ate beets, and two servings of applesauce. This first picture is leftover from yesterday afternoon.  The kids were playing on the airplane and having fun doing teeter-totter.  Notice that Avilene is the "pilot" and the only one wearing a hardhat.  That always makes me nervous when my pilot wears a hardhat!!  :) This next picture was taken shortly after Atley arrived this morning.  It's been a  LONG  time since the kids have been able to watch the garbage workers.  Their weekly schedule in this neighborhood has been very early mornings for a long time.  Atley and Linnea were happy to see them and one of the workers noticed these two and waved!! Avilene spotted a spider and immediately wanted Atley to handle the problem for her.  She yelled, "Get it with your foot Atley!...

Atley ate whole wheat Chex cereal and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat hamburger bun, no tomatoes, and ate oranges. At a random moment this morning Atley said, "Rainbow Drive."  Haha!  I asked, "Who lives on Rainbow Drive?"  She said, "Gary and Lauralea.  And Big Willy."  Ha!  So cute and he'd be thrilled. I'll try to remember to tell him! First picture; This was the first thing Atley engaged with this morning; the car ramp!!  She had the cars just flying down that thing and she liked it because it was impressing me!  :) Here are a couple more pictures from Atley's morning; She was measuring the art cabinet.  I asked her; "How far is it?"  She said, "That number right there."  Good answer Atley!!  Last picture:  Here's another activity she was enjoying as well.  She was using a suction tube and moving water from the bowl into the bubble holes.

Atley ate most of her breakfast: oatmeal and dried cranberries.  For lunch she ate Tilapia, whole wheat elbow noodles, one green bean, and ate her applesauce.  I have to post another picture of the girls at the table at lunch.  Atley got her plate filled first and is ready to go!  I helped with the applesauce, but that was all.  They like having their applesauce on top of their elbow noodles.  This week they've done almost all of it themselves.  Nice work girls!!  They try to boss each other during this process and here's what I hear: "That's enough Avi!!"  "That's enough Atley!!" They had a cute conversation during breakfast.  Atley was talking about an apple tree and pear tree. So Avi inquired about their location.  Atley said, "They're over there."  And pointed just like Avi should have a visual of Atley's house and yard.  Haha.  Avi continued; "Is it in the back yard?"  Atley said, "yes."  Avi said, ...

Atley ate two servings of whole wheat bagel and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she had bite of hamburger and sausage pizza with peppers, tomato sauce, pineapple, and olives.  We cook it separate from the whole wheat pizza crust - she ate the crust - and she ate pineapple on the side. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon and Atley is pouring her own tomato juice.  Notice the cute little pitcher; actually there are two of them on the table although you can only see one.  She and Avi were both very proud of themselves for not spilling any juice.   The second picture is also from yesterday afternoon when the kids were doing some sidewalk chalk. I'm always amused by how this age group "tattles" on each other.  And they  ALL do it - right in front of each other.  And the other amusing aspect; the accused one RARELY gets mad at the tattler!!  They just keep on playing like nothing happened!  This morning Avi...

Atley was not here for breakfast.  (She arrived about 10:15 so her Blog may be shorter.)  For lunch she ate pork chops, half of whole wheat tortillas, half of carrots, bites of potatoes, and three servings of fruit salad.  So I asked the kids during lunch what animal pork comes from and here's what I heard: "buffalo, eagles, deer, alligator, bear, snakes, elephant, snails, birds, cats, and dogs."  I think I got everything they said..and they never did say pig or cow.  :) First picture - Here are the kids playing with a "new" car ramp.  (Atley's in the picture laying on the floor between Linnea and Avilene.)  It's new as in another awesome find at a garage sale and it's in perfect shape!!  (I guarantee you it  didn't  come from a Daycare!!  Haha!!)  Here's something that happened moments later after I took the picture.  Callahan is pulling himself up to everything and he pulled himself up to the car ramp.  Then he st...
