Atley's Journal

Atley ate cream of wheat cereal and half of dried plums for breakfast.  Everyone was too distracted with the new fella and eating was secondary!!  For lunch she ate bites of Shepard's pie with potatoes, green beans, and carrots.  She ate bites of her whole wheat tortillas and ate cherries. So speaking of the new fella here is a picture of Callahan's first day at Little Treasures!  (Posted with permission from Momma Maddy!)  Whenever a new baby starts it always changes the dynamics of the group! So a new adventure begins as we learn about him and he learns about us.  In the meantime today's Blog will probably be shorter than normal and that may be the case for a few days.  I take pictures and notes for the Blogs everyday and we'll just see how it goes.  Here's what I do know: I now have maximum enrollment and I will be very busy!  Which is fine with me! Atley ate two servings of waffle and a bite of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bite of baked beef kabobs with meat, zucchini, peppers, and pineapple.  She ate most of her brown rice and a large serving of pineapple on the side.  Atley and Nora were arguing (surprise surprise) at the lunch table. Nora said, "I'm getting big!"  Atley said, "You're staying little."  Repeat & Repeat!  Ok, let's talk about something else.  :) Also at the breakfast table Atley asked for more waffle, but she had not eaten any fruit salad.  The table kids have to at least eat a bite or two of something they may not care for before they get another serving of what they do like.  And I'd already reminded her of that.  However, I was at the changing table doing Svea's diaper and Nora was done after only having a bite of everything.  She said, "Atley gonna eat some of mine" and she'd already slid her waffle tray across the table to Atley! ...

Atley ate French toast and three servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate several bites of "Whole 30" chili with meat, sweet potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, and tomato sauce.  She ate whole wheat dinner roll, and most of tropical fruit. First thing this morning we were at the window Atley was confiding in Linnea about her "potty troubles" from last night!  "Linnea, my pee pee just leaked out!!"  Linnea just looked at her.  Haha!  "And why are you telling me this!?!?"  Later she shared it with Nora and Avi too.  Nora, in a real cheerful and happy voice said, "Oh!!"  and just looked at her as well.  :) First picture: I'm just posting this picture of my shirt for kicks - for the Grandparents and others who've never seen it.  I've had it for years and it's about worn out, but I'm looking for another one with the same picture of me!!  Ha!  I ask the kids; "Who's this?"  And they always ans...

Atley ate toasted and buttered whole wheat bagel and grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork chops, whole wheat toast, ate two bites of sweet potatoes, and two servings of applesauce.  At breakfast Nora asked, "Gary! I ate all my bagel!  Can I have more grapes?"  Atley said, "Gary is  SOOOO  happy!!" Ok, brace yourself folks because we have some poop to talk about!!  It's kind of a popular subject around here lately so I have to share the poop humor from today!!  Atley went poop first thing this morning and Linnea was the only other child here at that time.  Atley said, "I want Linnea to see my poop!!"  Haha!  No, she hasn't reached the legal poop viewing age yet!!  Then Atley looked at her poop and said, "Corn!!"  Haha!!  So later in the morning Atley pooped again with the same results, but this time Nora and Avi were here to inspect and appreciate the results!  Avi looked in the water, saw the corn and ...

Atley ate whole grain Chex cereal and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, half of whole wheat hamburger bun, no tomatoes, bite of avocado, and ate fruit salad. This first picture was taken last Friday and the kids were circling the "newbie" and checking out Gideon!!  Isn't that cute!  They are flying out for Louisiana tomorrow morning so the Daycare kids  have a few more moments with the little guy!  Here's a funny note about Svea and Gideon this morning you might like;  I was changing Linnea and I looked over and Svea was standing on Gideon - on his tummy.  He didn't care and wasn't making a sound!!  He's a tuff little fella, didn't cry, and made Grandpa proud!!  Haha!  However, with Baby Callahan starting on this Friday it was a GREAT reminder!!  Protect the Baby!!!  Svea was touching the wall to balance and just standing there looking down at him.  At that age another child is no different than ...

Atley ate two servings of toasted and buttered whole wheat bagel and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of hamburger & sausage pizza with peppers, pineapple, olives, and tomato sauce.  She ate the whole wheat pizza crust, and ate all of her pineapple on the side.  Just a reminder: There is will be no Blogs tomorrow and back on Monday!! Atley ate two servings of whole wheat toast and two serving of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork roast, bites of whole wheat tortillas, no vegetables (potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots), and ate  half of her fruit salad. First picture: This is our Birthday poster and the kids love talking about their birthday and also each other's birthday.  I'd thought I'd put this in the Blog so if you ever hear Atley making some kind of reference to a "Christmas tree" in regards to her birthday you'd know what she was talking about. Atley knows all the Daycare kids and even remembers Kenzie's; "Kenzie is a heart."  That's right Atley.  And Avi remembers Riley's; "RiRi is a star." I was in the kitchen putting breakfast food on the plates and Nora started yelling, " NO Atley, NO!! " Over and over I might add!!  Ha!!  I said, "Atley, are you terrorizing Nora!?"  I could see Atley just standing there!  Atley ...

Atley ate toasted whole wheat English muffin and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of chicken with stir fry vegetables, ate a large serving of brown rice, and ate half of oranges. I want to give everyone a heads-up about what's coming at the end of this week.  This Saturday is the Memorial in Plains for my Mom and we have both of my kids and their families coming on Thursday and Friday.  I'm going to have the Daycare open as usual and the only change will be  NO   BLOGS  on Friday!  That will help free up more time during Daycare as it might be slightly busy around here!!  Haha!  Can't wait!! Atley ate most of cheerios and ate banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat pita bread, olives, bites of tomato, bite of avocado (or at least she "touched" it - see below), and ate strawberries.  Nora said, "Can I have more strawberries?"  I said, "You haven't even touched your avocado."  Atley said, "I just touched mine!"  Haha!  Stinking literalists!!  :)  Atley was so proud of herself for voluntary taking a bite of tomato without me mentioning it!!  "I took a bite of my tomato Gary!!"  Also, Atley immediately noticed the new dishwasher - different color!  First thing!  Nothing gets by that girl! Atley ate some brown rice and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of salmon, ate whole wheat dinner roll, bites of cauliflower, and ate mangoes. First picture:  Atley was trying to coax Linnea into the chair this morning!  But Linnea didn't want any part of that!  I think it's funny that Linnea would much rather push the chair in circles than sit in it while someone else pushes.  (And that's exactly what Atley would rather do too!!)  Atley said, "Get in!!"  Linnea just looked at her.  So Atley went and got some "bait" (two books you see in the picture laying in the chair) and then Atley just pointed at the books.  Linnea shook her head no!!  Cracking me up!  They were doing a pretty good job communicating and neither of them were saying a word!!  Ha!  It was probably an hour later, after other activities, Atley sat in the chair and Linnea started pushing it around and around.  Atley said, "Linnea's doing...

Atley ate toasted whole wheat English muffin and a bite of oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and two servings of applesauce. At Story Time this morning Avi wanted me to read one of the little books and it happened to be one Svea was looking at and then "chewing" on.  I'd seen her doing that, but I didn't realize it was the same book  UNTIL  I opened the last page and drool ran down the page and out of the book!  Haha!  And it happened to drip on Atley when I swung it sideways!  (It surprised me and I wasn't expecting that!)  Atley said, "That was yucky!  Mommy have to wash my pants!!"  :)  No kidding, that was pretty gross and yucky!  And it wasn't a little trail of drool either!!  (I guess that's graphic enough.) Atley ate French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a few bites of hearty paleo stew with meat, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, green beans, and tomatoes.  She also ate crackers and tropical fruit. This paragraph is probably more about Avi, but we talked about all the Mommies.  During Story Time we were reading one of our Alphabet books; and we have LOTS of them!!  We got to "M" and talked about everyone who's name starts with "M" and mentioned some Mommies including Hudson's Mommy.  "Molly, Megan, Maddy."  Avi said, "Becca starts with B."  Yes it does and good job Avi!  I asked, "What does Emily start with?"  Avi thought for a moment and said, "M."  Wow, that is actually very good!  It says the letter M perfectly so we'll just leave it at that!  (Man our English language is nuts when it comes to spelling!!) Atley ate waffle and three servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, bites of whole wheat tortillas, ate corn, and baked cinnamon apples. The kids were telling Lauralea bye this morning and giving hugs!  Atley hugged Lauralea and asked, "Does that make you happy?"  :) " It sure does Atley!" I asked, "Ok, who's poopy?"  I was sure it was Nora and she readily confessed!  Haha!  Atley said, "You make Gary's house stink Nora!"  Haha!  Now I did not say that Atley, but I guess it was implied!  That made me laugh. When Atley arrived this morning Linnea was reading books at the book rack.  She heard the door open and she yelled, "Atley!!" and took off running around the corner to the gate.  So cute!!  She knows Atley is the one who usually arrives next and she yelled "Atley" way before she actually saw her.  And she was right - it was Atley. Atley ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground turkey, half of whole wheat hamburger bun, no tomato, ate half of avocado, and ate cherries.  For probably two or three weeks Atley has been talking about "gumbo" at meal times at least once a day.  Today they (Nora, Atley, and Avi) decided they did NOT like "gumbo milk."  Haha! I have a note leftover from Friday afternoon that's kind of cute so here it is: Lauralea was here and she stayed inside with Svea (Linnea was gone) while I took the three "big girls" outside.  It's been so cold we've not been able to go outside for a long time!  Lauralea was also combining that time with some of her developmental "testing" she's doing for upcoming parent meetings!  Anyhow, she asked the kids, "What shall we put on first!?"  (What would be the most logical thing to put on first to go play in the snow?)  Atley said, "MINE!!"  LOL!!  I roared! ...

Atley ate oatmeal and two servings of baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of hamburger stew with meat, carrots, green beans, tomatoes, and potatoes.  She also ate whole wheat dinner roll and apricots. First picture - lots of mattress play, running, jumping, giggling, and giving Svea loves.  Linnea is home with Grandparents today and Avi didn't come until lunch time.  When Avi arrived Atley said, "I'm happy that Avi's here!"  Atley and Nora wanted some water in the middle of the morning and when they were done Atley said, "We were thirsty for water in our tummies Nora!!"  :)  Nora was in full agreement!
