Atley ate most of oatmeal and ate dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of fish (bass), large serving of whole wheat elbow noodles, bite of green beans, and a large serving of applesauce. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  It's always fun to have a friend like Atley!!  Lots of laughs and good times!  :)  So here's Nora watching Atley come down the slide on her back head-first; which is really never a good idea!  She didn't whimper or cry, BUT she also didn't do it again! She laid at the top of the slide like she was going to do it again, but made a better decision.  :) Next picture; Atley and Avi were playing with the carrots from the food toys, except the carrots were now their baseball bats!  I love how often Atley has a big grin on her face.  She is a fun loving girl and a great kid to have in my Daycare. This last picture kind of captures the essence of who Atley is as well; and also Linnea. ...

Atley ate whole wheat bagel and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate sausage and hamburger pizza with whole wheat pizza crust, tomato sauce, pineapple, olives, and peppers.  She also ate pineapple on the side.  (She'll eat pineapple with this meal, but in a fruit salad or fruit cocktail she always picks out her pineapple and sets it aside!?!)  :) Here's a paragraph from Nora's Blog today that I think you'll enjoy!!  I had to remind Nora  several  times today that "Gary is in charge."  "I'm in charge here, not you."  "I got this; you can just play and enjoy yourself."  "I'll do the bossing part of this job!!"  Haha!  One of the more comical times:  At breakfast Atley said she was "done" and Nora started yelling at her: "Food...mouth!! Still eating!!"  Well of course Atley wasn't going to let that opportunity to tease Nora go to waste!  She repeated, "I done Gary!!"  Nora's intens...

Atley ate whole wheat toast and grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of chicken with stir fry vegetables, ate brown rice, and cherries. I mentioned this to Daddy Brad yesterday, but Atley did it again this morning at least 5 times!!  She was reading a book in the "preschool" room titled, "There was an old woman who swallowed a shell."  (There are lots of different versions of this story, but the first was a "fly" she'd swallowed.) Anyhow, Atley knows the tune to that, but she was reading it and singing "Over the river and through the woods to grandma's house we go."  It was so cute and every time she looked at the "shell" book she'd sing the same song.  (Probably because I was laughing each time!!) Linnea has been gone since last Thursday so it was nice to see her today and she's taking lots of steps now!!  Atley noticed Linnea walking and said, "She's going big Gary!!"  That was so...

Atley ate toasted whole wheat english muffin and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of pork chop meat, bites of whole wheat tortillas, bite of vegetables (carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes), and half of fruit salad. This first note is just an update on something we've been working on for 2 -3 months.  State Licensing is requiring all Programs regardless of size - Family (Little Treasures fits into that category), Group, Center - everyone has to develop an Emergency Disaster Plan.  No detail needed here, but it involves on-site evacuation, neighborhood evacuation, out of neighborhood evacuation, and a safe on-site shelter to hide from intruders or disaster.  We have the perfect room for this downstairs because it has no window.  This has taken a lot of work, but we're basically done and today we did a "Lock-Down Drill!"  Of course the kids had no clue, but they kind of liked the adventure of going to the basement "safe room."  We have...

Atley ate cheerios and banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of ground beef, ate whole wheat pita bread, ate olives, no tomatoes, no avocado, and no cantaloupe.  (If you like cantaloupe those Dixon melons are yummy, but Atley wanted nothing to do with them!!  Ha!) This first picture is obviously NOT Atley, but Nora was still eating breakfast and watching Atley poke her head in and out of the igloo!  They were both cracking up and enjoying each other.  Too cute.  Earlier, when Atley was still at the table eating breakfast Nora kept looking at her and just giggling.  I think it's safe to say that Nora is pleased to have her friend back at Little Treasures!!  Nora has this intense "belly laugh" that's just too cute and Atley brings that out more than anyone at Daycare!! Continuing with the Nora theme I have to copy and paste this next section from Nora's Blog last Tuesday while you all were on vacation:  Nora was talking on the pho...

Atley ate whole wheat toast and two servings of mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a couple bites of hamburger stew with meat, green beans, carrots, and tomatoes. She ate whole wheat dinner roll and a large serving of apricots! I didn't mention this in yesterday's blog, but Kenzie and Riley both saw the noticeable improvement in Atley's speech!  They've not seen her since the first week of June, a little over two months, and Kenzie said, "Atley is talking a lot!"  Yes she surely is!!  Sometimes the learning curve in these first three or four years of life is amazing...not much of a curve...just straight up learning!! Atley heard Lauralea telling me she was going to take a shower in the upstairs bathroom, but she had to run downstairs for something.  When she came back up the stairs, maybe 1 - 2 minutes later, Atley said, "You're all clean!!"  Haha!  She's pretty speedy, but not that speedy!! So this first picture is from yesterda...

Atley ate french toast and bites of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of pulled pork, ate whole wheat toast, a large serving of peas, and no watermelon.  At breakfast Atley said, "Nor Nor not here! Nor Nor Condra!"  Haha!  Well Hudson was trying to set the record straight of course and said, "Atley Condra!  Nora Hansen!"  Atley already knows that and much to his dismay she kept saying, "Nor Nor Condra!"  Silly kids!! We had a busy fun night last night and it carried over into the morning!!  Kenzie and Riley came after Daycare yesterday and spent the night with us.  So Lauralea and Story slept with them in a tent in the yard.  Me? I had the nice quiet house all to myself!  Cheers!  So these first three pictures are from the reunion with Kenzie and Riley!  First; Atley trying to stand on her head with Riley!  Second; Atley watching Kenzie on her head and Hudson giving it a go!  Third picture: Atl...

Atley ate most of whole wheat bagel and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  (Atley was calling the grapes; "my roly poly." She loves the roly poly bugs!)  For lunch she ate shrimp, a large serving of brown rice, bite or two of stir fry vegetables, and ate a large serving of raspberries.  Just in case anyone is wondering why certain children are missing from the pictures; There are only 3 kids here today and for the rest of the week as Nora, Avilene, and Svea are gone on vacation.  Then (just in case you forgot - ha) Atley leaves on Friday for vacation and will be gone all next week as well.  It's that time of year!! Ok, Atley has been here for over a year and I should have written this paragraph months ago, but I guess it's better late than never!!  I rarely look at the finished Blog that everyone reads.  I insert the pictures, notes, and do editing on a different page.  Anyhow, I realize there is a place for comments on the finished page. ...

Atley ate bran cereal and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, half of whole wheat pita bread, no peppers, no cucumbers, ate olives, no tomatoes, and ate pears.  My Granddaughter Story is here and after looking at Linnea eating breakfast she said, "She's muddy looking!"  Atley of course then had to say, "She's a mess!"  Haha!  I'm just impressed by how well Linnea feeds herself and how much she eats!  :) So my oldest Granddaughter (she's 8 and her name is Story) is here this week and the kids were excited to have a visitor this morning and someone who paid attention to them.  My Granddaughter is short for her age with a 5 foot Asian Momma and my son is also short!  (His biological Dad is Puerto Rican.)  Story stood beside Atley and said, "I'm taller than her!"  Haha!  Well good, she's a 2 year old!  Story is an excellent reader and Story was in charge of Story Time!  :) In the 2nd picture Story had mo...

Atley ate cream of wheat cereal and half of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of baked beef kabobs with meat, zucchini, pineapple, and peppers.  She ate a large serving of brown rice and no pineapple on the side. First picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was wearing a leopard jacket, Hudson was wearing one of the lion suits, and Nora was pushing the chair.  Silly Atley was pretending to sleep.  Nora was wearing a cute little froggy suit too, but she'd just taken it off. Atley was here for over an hour this morning before any other children arrived!  (Outdoor concert last night at Kettle-house Brewery or whatever it's called!  Ha.)  When Hudson arrived I told him that Atley had been here for over an hour already and he said, "That's not true!"  Haha!  Oh really, so how long has she been here?  He said, "7, 8, 9."  Right. Atley got to watch a street sweeper this morning and we went outside to the...

Atley ate waffle and bites of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate several bites of shepherd's pie with hamburger, green beans, carrots, and potatoes.  She ate whole wheat tortilla and ate cherries. Atley and Hudson played together almost 45 minutes before anyone else arrived!  They had the toys piled high in the corner and Avi immediately joined them when she arrived!  (See picture below.)  They were on an airplane ride and were saying things like; "buckle up!"  "We're buckling up!"  Hudson, being a frequent flyer, said, "I got my tablet!"  :) Atley and Avi were on the couch (Atley at the bottom of the picture and you can see Avi's knee in the middle right of the picture.) when Hudson came over and said, "I'm a monster!"  I'm sure Mommy's don't necessarily like to see their kid's shirt all stretched out, but this was too cute! We did a lot of outside time this morning while the temperature was...

Atley ate french toast and three servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of "Whole 30" chili with hamburger, tomato sauce, peppers, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes.  She ate whole wheat dinner roll and ate a large serving of tropical fruit. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon when the kids asked to play in the sand table.  They had lots of fun scooping sand into the funnels which makes the wheels spin around.  By the way, I'm doing something different with the sand area in the next few weeks to make it more practical; plus I think they'll like it much better.  :) Linnea wanted to climb up the three little steps to the blue balance beam again today, except Atley happened to be sitting on the second step!  Linnea kind of yells at her and starts tugging and pulling on Atley's shirt.  Atley said, "Those are  MY  clothes, those are  MY  clothes!!"  However, Atley quickly took off running! ...

Atley ate toasted whole wheat english muffin and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork chop meat, whole wheat toast, no beets, ate sweet potatoes, and two servings of applesauce. These first two pictures basically go together!  Atley singing with just a microphone - although that's the last thing she needs!  Something to amplify her voice?  Not necessary!  :)  Look at her furrowed brow in the 2nd picture.  She is really into the song and working hard at it.  The name of the song she was singing is "Today is Monday."  Just in case you don't know it - "Today is Monday, today is Monday, Monday green beans all you hungry children come and eat it up!"  And a different food for every day of the week. Hudson, Nora (in the middle), and Atley each had a doll, stuffed animal, and a doll blanket and were taking "naps."  I like how Nora laid out her babies and then just used the doll blanket to cover her own head...

Atley ate whole wheat chex cereal and two servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, half of whole wheat hamburger bun, no tomatoes, most of avocados, and no oranges. This morning Atley was at the window with Linnea waiting for Daddy Eric to arrive so they could wave at him.  Linnea was thumping and slapping on the window and Atley kept saying, "He's not here!  He's not here!!"  (Louder and louder!)  Haha!  Now that's hilariously ironic!!  Not very long ago it was Hudson yelling the same words at Atley!  :)  And before that it was someone yelling the same thing at Hudson. Here are some pictures from the morning activities.  Hudson and Atley were enjoy watching two or three crows as they were just outside the window.  Next picture; I always have to post a picture of Atley with a mask inside-out and upside-down.  You'd think the law of averages would catch up - but nope, not yet! That ain't happening!!...
