Atley - 9/12/2019

Atley ate two servings of whole wheat bagel and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she had bite of hamburger and sausage pizza with peppers, tomato sauce, pineapple, and olives.  We cook it separate from the whole wheat pizza crust - she ate the crust - and she ate pineapple on the side.

This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon and Atley is pouring her own tomato juice.  Notice the cute little pitcher; actually there are two of them on the table although you can only see one.  She and Avi were both very proud of themselves for not spilling any juice.   The second picture is also from yesterday afternoon when the kids were doing some sidewalk chalk.

I'm always amused by how this age group "tattles" on each other.  And they ALL do it - right in front of each other.  And the other amusing aspect; the accused one RARELY gets mad at the tattler!!  They just keep on playing like nothing happened!  This morning Avi pulled a sticker off the new car ramp and she stuck it in her pocket.  Atley yelled; "Gary! Avi pulled off a sticker!!"  However, this time Avi got in Atley's face and growled; "Atley, I wanted to take it home!!"  :)

Here are a couple pictures from this morning.  All the kids playing around the new car ramp; the ramp that has one less sticker on it!!  :)  Last picture; Lauralea was doing some testing on Svea and Linnea and then did some reading to the kids when she was done.  Thanks Lauralea!!

This isn't just about Atley, but I think you'll like it.  At the breakfast table when everyone was just about done eating Avilene started whipping her head side-to-side really fast and furious - just being a goof and showing-off!  Nora and Atley were laughing hard of course and started doing the same thing, squealing louder every passing second!  I told Avi, "Hold your head still please."  Hudson never misses an opportunity to add his two cents worth, and he followed with this; "Or your ponytail will fall out!"  haha!  (The fact that Avi didn't have a ponytail was apparently irrelevant!) Atley ate whole wheat English muffin and mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. I'm not exactly sure what brought about the conversation about our "heart," but Atley informed everyone "I know when your heart breaks." Oh really, when is that? "When you're NOT in love." Then after a few moments she added; "When you die." :) Today was Science with Lauralea and the kids were super excited as always. The theme was "our tongue" and "taste buds." Lots of tasting today! As you can see in the first picture we had a partially completed (ha) diagram of the tongue and we briefly told the kids where their taste buds are located. Atley - 9/29/2017

Atley ate malt-o-meal cereal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of "beef kabobs" (beef, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms), ate whole wheat toast, and pineapple. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was squatted down in the middle of the sidewalk watching school kids walk home.  Avilene saw her squatting there and ran to join her.  Not too much to say about this picture except for the fact I think it's adorable!! In this next picture Hudson was holding a mirror in front of Atley's face and he said, "This is Atley."  Ha!  These are some new mirrors I got; one side magnifies and the other side distorts!  (Hey!  Just trying to start them off with a good self-image! Ha!) There were several robins in the yard when I took these last two pictures.  The robin in the first picture hopped down to the ground and Hudson said, "He fell off!"  Haha!  Robins are one of the more "calm...
