Atley's Journal

Atley ate two servings of whole wheat toast and ate mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef with marinara sauce on whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate cauliflower, and a large serving of fruit salad. First picture: How many pictures have I posted with the kids waving at the window!?!  Haha!  I like this one because they are all waving.  (At Momma Molly Nelson.)  Second picture: This made me laugh!  Callahan looks like he thinks it's funny too!!  :)  Atley kept saying, "peekaboo" and pulling her dress up over her face.  Linnea was trying to do it too, but her shirt was not nearly as loose as Atley's dress!!  :) Next picture: Atley is working on a "caterpillar" puzzle.  This is a good one that helps her to recognize numbers.  She's doing it by shape and color, but the numbers are also there and in order. Atley ate two servings of whole wheat bagel and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate shrimp, a large serving of brown rice, most of stir fry vegetables, and a large serving of raspberries. Atley was gone to the Dentist for awhile this morning and we were outside when she returned.  The kids were on the new toy and having lots of fun and in the first picture Atley is at the controls!  :)  In the second picture she'd went over beside Baby Callahan and was actually staring at the baby toys on the blanket!  Haha!  (Obviously out of sight in the picture.) That cracked me up!  So I asked her if she'd sit down and pat the baby and she did.  :)  (You know, to make it look like she was super interested in him.  Haha!  She does like him just fine, she just has lots more important things to do!!!) Atley ate most of bran cereal and most of raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, whole wheat pita bread, no cucumbers, bites of avocado, and ate a large serving of pears. Nora and Atley were on the mattress and Nora was the "doctor."  She was wanting to do a checkup on Atley, but Atley wasn't really cooperating and she rolled over on her side.  That frustrated Nora and she flopped down on the mattress in a major dramatic maneuver and laid there sucking her thumb.  Avi was monitoring the activity of course and she yelled in a disgusted voice, "NORA!! Doctors do NOT lay down!!"  Haha!  I roared!! Atley ate whole wheat cream of wheat and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate baked beef kabobs with meat, pineapple, zucchini, and peppers.  She also ate brown rice and pineapple on the side. Avi was trying to convince Nora she NEEDED to go to Avi's house!  Again, Nora was basically ignoring it all.  Avi said, "Hey Nora! NORA! My house has some ice cream!!"  Nora didn't respond,  HOWEVER  that made Atley whirl around!!  LOL!  "What colors do you have!?!" Atley asked!  Avi said, "Blackberry!!  NORA, I have blackberry!!"  No response.  :)  However, Atley was ready!! Story and Eden, my two Granddaughters from Billings are here until Sunday afternoon and it was very fun to have them in Daycare this morning.  And very BUSY BUSY BUSY I might add!!  In the first picture Story was totally enthralled with baby Callahan and WHATEVER Story was doing, all the other kids wanted to do too of course.  :)...

Atley ate waffle and a couple bites of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate shepherd's pie with meat, potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, and carrots.  She ate whole wheat tortillas, and cherries. First picture: Svea was doing one of her favorite activities; strolling around the room blind!!  I was giggling about this and of course Atley wanted to impress me too!  So she put a doll blanket over her head, but she never moved.  She just stood in one place hanging on to the changing table!  Haha!  It doesn't feel real safe does it Atley!?! Avi asked me, "Can we do some gluing?"  Sure and I got her some paper.  She said "we," but neither Atley or Nora wanted to glue.  Avi said, "Atley, do you want to do some gluing?"  Atley said, "No, I want to read books."  (Repeat two or three times.)  Finally Avi disgustedly said, "Ok Fine !! Atley ate French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of whole 30 chili with meat, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, and tomato sauce.  She ate whole wheat dinner roll, and ate tropical fruit. Atley ate half of whole wheat English muffin and half of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of pork chop, ate whole wheat toast, beets, and two servings of applesauce. Atley wanted to show Lauralea her painted fingernails.  She ran up to Lauralea holding up both hands, except with the palms forward.  So Lauralea wasn't sure what that was about.  "You want me to give you five?"  Haha!  Turn your hands over Atley so she can see your fingernails.  :) First picture: Wearing the cute hats and Dancing on the mattress with Avilene.  Haha.  Avi also had on some dress-up boots and she even asked me first if it was ok for her to go on the mattress.  Good job Avi.  Speaking of Avi, shortly after this these two were bickering about some food toys.  Not sure what it was about, but it had to do with the ice cream.  Anyhow, Linnea was a bit concerned and kept asking, "What's the matter Atley, what's the matter?" ...

Atley ate half of whole wheat Chex cereal and half of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat hamburger bun, bite of tomatoes, bite of avocado, and ate most of oranges. Atley had to tell Lauralea about being on the river yesterday.  Lauralea asked about who was in the boat and of course Atley included Lexi.  So Lauralea asked if Lexi jumped in the water.  Atley said, "No, there was too much water."  :)  And that's exactly why I don't jump in the river either Atley!!  Too much water!! We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend so as usual the kids were super busy and very engaged all morning.  So what did Atley play with first?  She went out to the preschool room and found a new toy.  I've mentioned before that I like to have one or maybe two "electronic" type of games in each toy exchange, but no more than that!  I'm just assuming they get plenty of those everywhere else outside of Daycare an...

Atley ate half of oatmeal and two servings of dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate tilapia, most of whole wheat elbow noodles, no green beans, and most of applesauce. This first picture is leftover from yesterday afternoon.  I happened to catch all the kids that were still here hanging out on Callahan's blanket at the same time.  Not much room left for him!!  :)  If you look at this in "live mode" (I learned that term from Momma Molly!!) you'll hear Avilene saying, "What's going on?!?" She was using a "whining" voice - translation - "I'm bored!  Entertain me Gary!" Haha! Atley ate two servings of whole wheat bagel and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger and sausage pizza with peppers, pineapple, and olives; and whole wheat pizza crust.  She also ate pineapple on the side. I'd been in the kitchen shortly before breakfast toasting and putting butter on some bagels.  Atley didn't know what I was doing and didn't even notice.  Soon I was done and back in the play room.  A couple minutes later Atley tipped her head back and said,  "Yuuummm!  That smells good!" I asked, "What does it smell like?"  She thought for a moment and said, "Muffin."  Wow! Impressed me! That girl has a pretty sharp sense of smell. The Lunch conversation today was pretty cute and funny.  Atley asked Avilene, "Do you have a basement?"  Avi said, "Yes, but you can' t go in it."  Atley wanted to know "why?"  Avi said, "Because it's really dirty."  Haha!  Atley said, "The...

Atley ate three servings of whole wheat toast and three servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork roast, bites of whole wheat tortillas, bite of potato/sweet potato, and ate fruit salad. Here's a note from yesterday afternoon.  Avi asked, "When are we having snack?"  I told her it was in about 30 minutes and I showed her the "Minute Hand" on the clock and the "Second Hand" which is always moving.  (We'll save the "Hour Hand" for another lesson at a later date!!  Haha!)  She and Atley (Atley was immediately interested too) totally paid attention to that and watched for over 20 minutes.  They'd get distracted and look back and see the progress it was making and were excited when the "Big Hand" hit the 1. Atley ate cheerios and half of banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat pita bread, olives, avocado, and two servings of watermelon.  When it was time to wash for breakfast I heard Avi (still out in the Play room) asking Nora; "Can I wash first?"  Avi knows there may be yelling if she doesn't ask first!! However, while these negotiations were taking place Atley had slipped in first and was washing her hands! Ha!! We had a wonderful vacation; I took a good hike every day for 8 days straight and my favorite hikes were on the continental divide trail in different locations. We did tons of reading and played several board games and card games. There was no cell service at the Forest Service cabin or electricity so it was like the "good old days." (Haha! Actually, these are the good days! I love modern living and technology!!) Everyone was giddy and silly this morning - as it usually is coming back from several days away!  So of course th...

Just in case there are some people reading the blogs that might not be aware of Little Treasures vacation days!  This will be the last blog until July 15th.  Thank you to everyone for making it possible for me to renew my energy and spirit with a few days off.  I have the best families at Little Treasures and I'm thankful for all of you.  Looking forward to hiking, reading, and relaxing for a few days!!  I love taking care of your children and enjoy it so much!!  (Oh yes, Lauralea informed me there will be cards and board games.  Haha!  I enjoy them too.)
