Atley - 2/28/2018

Atley ate half of her french toast and a couple bites of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of paleo stew with ground beef, carrots, green beans, cauliflower, and broccoli.  She ate saltines and tropical fruit. This first picture is Atley enjoying the "sidewalk" they (primarily Avi and Atley) were building.  Later, Atley was following Avi's lead and hopping across the "sidewalk" like a bunny rabbit.  She was working very hard at maintaining her balance, doing short bunny hops, and having good success at it.  They also played on the mattress of course and did lots of jumping, rolling, and laughing.  Most things with Atley involve laughter.  My kind of girl!!  :) No matter how many books I read during the Story Times (once in the morning and again in the late afternoon) they still read lots more books on their own.  So wonderful!!  When I took this picture of Atley she was singing at high volume and I think I recogn...

Atley ate half of her waffle and all of her grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of baked chicken, ate whole grain tortilla, corn, and maybe a taste of baked cinnamon apples. I frequently go sit in the chair while Atley waves "bye" to Momma in the mornings.  Today (for the first time) Atley pointed at the chair and said, "sit chair" when she went to the window.  Haha!  That was pretty cute.  Our little Miss Routine Girl.  I Love her. Atley and Nora were playing in the igloo and Avi joined them as well.  One or two of them would stay in the igloo and the other one would peek inside.  (Like Atley is doing in the picture.)  We also did some dot painting and Atley had fun with that too. Probably 30 minutes after breakfast Hudson decided it was time to clean up the toys.  He said they needed to clean up because they had to go to soccer.  Ha!  So he and Avi worked real hard to get it all cleaned up.  I w...

Atley ate most of kix cereal and ate mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of turkey burger, half of whole wheat hamburger bun, no salad with lettuce, tomato, and ranch dressing; she ate half of avocado serving, and ate cherries.  Atley was apparently done with her lunch and started singing REAL loud.  I told her she could wash and then sing out in the play room.  Hudson asked, "Well can we talk and visit?"  Haha!  Yes Hudson!  (For Hudson, That's like asking if he can breathe!) I love Atley's enthusiasm for Daycare, friends, and life in general.  So refreshing and wonderful.  I told Nora to say "bye" to her Daddy, but she was too busy with the toy exchange.  Not to worry; Atley covered for her.  "BYE!! BYE!! BYE!!!"  (while vigorously waving)  He said, "Well thank you Atley.  :) We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange and the kids were very busy all morning.  I took this first picture shortly af...

Atley ate oatmeal and bites of baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of hamburger stew with meat, green beans, carrots, potatoes, and tomatoes.  She had bites of apricots and ate whole wheat dinner roll. I was teasing Hudson this morning and he seemed slightly offended when I told him the noise level had increased exponentially this morning compared to the rest of the week when he was gone.  Haha! It wasn't JUST his incessant talking, but the others were also excited to have him back.  Avilene was the last one here and Daddy Andy heard the uproar, just wished me luck and took off!  :)  Lauralea seemed relieved to be heading out the door as well!  Haha!!  Speaking of Hudson, this morning he said, "Hey Lauralea, I have a cough!"  Atley immediately started doing fake coughs!  Haha! The first picture is just a silly one that Kenzie took yesterday afternoon.  Kenzie, Riley, Avi, and Atley thought it was hilari...

Atley ate french toast (with syrup) and most of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate all of her shrimp (cut up into small bites), a large serving of brown rice, bites of stir fry vegetables, and bites of raspberries. We had a fun morning playing, working hard, reading books, and doing some coloring on coffee filters at art.  It was fun watching the three girls (Hudson will be back tomorrow) do "copy-cat play" running back-n-forth across the room, weaving in and out of pillows, from the gate to the mirror. If one falls down (intentional or unintentional) then the next one has to fall down too. This first picture makes me laugh.  These were the first two kids here this morning and Atley had taken her books over and sat down near the Baby.  When the baby tried to get a book Atley immediately started guarding it with her feet.  Haha!  Good thinking Atley! The next picture is just Atley playing with the legos flowers.  They like to put as m...

Atley ate whole wheat toast and mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of ground beef with marinara sauce on whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate squash, and ate some of the fruit salad; at least the grapes!! I was giving Nora loves after she arrived and Atley came to the chair and said, "wanna hug."  :)  So cute.  I don't care if it was influenced by Nora I still like the random hugs!!  Thanks Atley!!  I took this first picture yesterday afternoon when Riley was putting the chef cap and the apron on Atley. Initially Atley and Nora were fighting over the legos flowers.  Ok, let's look for more legos flowers - we found 20 in the drawer so I think there is enough for everyone!!  :)  Then Atley started hooking them together and Nora joined her.  In the following picture - another way to play with the same legos.  Nora and Atley were putting the legos flowers in the cups then dumping them in the bowls.  They ...

Atley ate whole wheat bagel bites and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pulled pork, whole wheat toast, and peas,  No watermelon. The Blog is short on notes today because I had my yearly physical this morning.  (Forgot to mention it earlier - sorry!  I'm also seeing a foot doctor tomorrow morning so Lauralea will be helping out tomorrow as well.  Nothing serious with the foot!)  Lauralea covered for me and took a couple of pictures and I took a couple as well, but I never ask her to take notes while I'm gone.  She does a LOT for the Daycare already and I don't want to push my luck too far!!  Haha!!  By the way, my physical and blood tests were all fine so I'm good for the foreseeable future taking care of these wonderful little people!!  :) Lauralea took this first picture when Atley and Avilene were spinning and Avi was calling it "hula hoop."  :)  Hudson isn't here today and these two girls play tog...

Atley ate whole grain cream of wheat cereal and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of baked beef kabobs with meat, zucchini, peppers, and mushrooms.  She ate a large serving of brown rice and half of pineapple.  While the kids were eating their cream of wheat I was encouraging them to "keep your face over your bowl" and "hold your bowl with this (left) hand."  They've heard those phrases many many times!!  Hudson chimed in with this zinger: "That's part of the deal!!"  Reminded me of a car salesman!!  Ha! First, I just want to remind everyone that Little Treasures is closed on Monday February 19th for Presidents Day.  Lauralea and I are headed to Billings tomorrow to see our Grandkids and probably their parents!  (Jokes!  That's a Grandparent joke!)  Blogs will resume on Tuesday! When I was getting Linnea ready for her morning nap Nora and Atley were singing "night night baby" at the top rung of their lungs!! ...

Atley ate waffle and half of her fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of her serving of shepherd's pie (with hamburger, potatoes, green beans, carrots), ate half of her whole grain tortilla, and ate her cherries.   Every meal every day Atley stands at the doorway after I take the meal tray into the lunch room asking; "Can I come out?!?"  Repeatedly!  Over and over and over and over!!  Haha!  She turns that sentence into one word and this is what it sounds like: "mm.out?"  "mm.out?" "mm.out?"  "mm.out?"  :) This first picture is one that Kenzie took yesterday afternoon.  All the kids were watching it snow and squealing - thanks to encouragement from Kenzie and Riley.  :)  So when they were done watching it snow we read the "Jingle Bells" book!  Which is what we were doing when Momma Megan came yesterday!  (From left: Hudson, Atley, Avilene, Nora.) Here are some pictures from this morning's activit...

Atley ate a large serving of french toast (with syrup) and no strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she tried a couple of bites of the Whole 30 sweet potato chili (haha - actually it's awesome) with hamburger, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, peppers, sweet potatoes, and spices.  (The Whole 30 food program does not include beans.)  She also ate dinner roll and ate tropical fruit. After breakfast Hudson was playing with Atley and when I walked out he said, "We're (he and Atley) discussing puzzles!"  Haha!  So cute.  I'm sure some day someone will inform Hudson that to qualify as a discussion there needs to be more than one person talking!  :) Atley was reading a book and singing loudly like she does and started singing, "Itsy bitsy spider..." Like I've mentioned several times Atley sings on tune and it's easy to identify the songs.  Avi was obviously listening because at just the right moment Avi sang out loud; "And knocked (washed) the s...

Atley had a bite or two of toasted whole wheat english muffin and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork chop meat, whole wheat bread, taste of roasted vegetables (carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes), and two servings of applesauce. I think Atley's energy level is a bit higher than yesterday, still not to normal Atley level, but I can see a definite improvement!  She bounced one time on the mattress, no jumping off the balance beam, and she ran with Nora from the gate to the mirror several times. Hudson will frequently use the last names of the other kids; especially if they're ignoring him or not answering as quick as he wants them to.  This morning it was "Atley Condra, Hey, Atley Condra!"  Then several minutes later the kids were all jumping on the mattress (Atley was basically just rolling around) Hudson made a sweeping motion with his hand and said, "These are all my people."  Haha!  Cracked me up! Atley ran to the baby to t...

Atley didn't eat very much at breakfast or lunch, although she drank about 6 ounces of milk at both meals.  For breakfast she had bites of chex cereal and peaches.  For lunch she ate bites of hamburger and hamburger bun.  She didn't eat any salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and ranch dressing, no avocado, and no oranges. Everyone is here today!!  Wow!  First time since February 1st!  Hopefully we can keep this going now.  There are still lots of runny noses, sneezing and coughing, but I think they're all getting better.  I spend so much time washing my hands!!  Haha!  Wipe noses, wash hands!  Change diapers, wash hands!  Get sneezed on...oh well, skip the hand washing!  10:00 and my hands look like prunes!  (Not that I really care!  I'm just filling Blog space!  Ha!)  Atley did fine this morning and played well as you can see in the pictures below, just nothing very rowdy that takes extra energ...

Atley ate bites of breakfast: cheerios and banana.  For lunch; from the taco salad she ate the ground beef, bites of tomatoes, olives, and lettuce, and she ate her avocado.  She ate bites of whole grain pita bread and no watermelon. Atley was done eating breakfast by the time Avilene arrived so she went to the window and waved at Avi's Daddy Andy!  (Avi was eating breakfast.)  I knew she was waving at him when I heard her pounding on the window!  Thank you Daddy Andy for stopping and waving at Atley.  She loved it. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the kids stayed super busy just like they always do on Toy Exchange Monday!  Atley was so engrossed with the toys she didn't even come around the corner when Baby Linnea arrived.  Now that is VERY unusual!  (She greeted her later!  Ha!)  These first two pictures are Nora and Atley playing with the xylophones.  Then they figured out they could turn them over...

Atley ate brown rice and two servings of raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate baked salmon, half of her dinner roll serving, ate corn, and half of mangoes.  Atley has been doing so well at the table.  I'm super pleased with her!  The phrase I use all the time - as they begin to eat, plus lots of reminders during the meal; "Hold your head over your plate/bowl as you eat!"  They frequently hear it when we eat things like oatmeal, rice, applesauce, etc.  Even in her highchair Nora responds to this instruction well and watches everyone else.  So eventually when she transitions to the table she will already be a pro at it too!!  :)  It's amazing how well they do.  I also have them hold their plate/bowl with the hand that is not holding their spoon. I was feeding Baby Linnea her morning bottle and Atley noticed the baby was missing one sock.  "Oh oh, oh oh!!"  Ha!  So I pointed Atley in the general direction and she foun...

Atley ate toasted whole wheat english muffin and a bite or two of oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate some ground beef, whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. Alley's vocabulary is really starting to take off now.  Before Lauralea leaves for work she's in the kitchen getting her breakfast and she can understand several things Atley is saying now.  She was jumping on the mattress and kept yelling, "butt bombs, butt bombs!"  Then Atley heard Baby Linnea waking up; "Baby's crying, baby's crying."  Thank you Atley. The next "action" pictures are blurry, but this is what she was doing for a long time this morning.  First picture; every time she'd jump on the hard floor I'd say, "If I was you I'd jump on the mattress." Makes my knees hurt just to watch that!  So I had to post the 2nd picture to show her doing a soft landing!!  Thank you Atley; that's much less painful to watch.  :) This morn...
