Atley's Journal

Atley ate two servings of whole wheat English muffin and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork chop, whole wheat toast, and most of beets, and ate her applesauce.  Lunch conversation: Avilene said, "Pass the pork."  Atley; "What is that; meat?"  "Yes."  Some of you may recall a lunch conversation a few months ago about where pork comes from.  So here we go again: I asked, "Where does pork come from?"  Avi nailed it first time; "Pig."  Yes, good job.  Atley looked at other food on her plate and asked, "Does beets come from ducks?!?"  Uhhh.....no.  I roared; that was too cute and funny.  So later Atley asked, "Does bread come from owls?"  Haha!  "No." Lauralea had a few minutes to hang out with the kids before leaving for work and they enjoyed it.  It's been quite awhile since that happened!!  (About three different times Linnea said, "Hi Lor Lor."). Atley ate two servings of whole wheat Chex cereal and two servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat hamburger bun, no tomato, no avocado, and ate her oranges. At the lunch table Avi and Atley were making their eyes cross and it looked pretty weird!  Atley said, "I have a mirror in my eyes."  Haha!  That's a first; never heard that one before!  :) Atley was running on and through the blocks and of course she crashed.  She immediately started howling and Avilene immediately said, "Gary!!  I didn't do anything to her!!"  (That's true; I saw it all.)  Atley confirmed Avi's statement by mournfully saying, "I did it all by myself."  Haha! Here are some pictures from Atley's morning.  First picture;  She was on the igloo about to jump and said, "I'm gonna fly today!!"  Haha!  This is the day it happens!!  And sure enough she flew right off the igloo with a picture to prove it! ...

Atley ate oatmeal and dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of tilapia, whole wheat elbow noodles, no green beans, and ate applesauce. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon shortly after the kids got up from their nap. Here's a side note; Generally speaking, right after nap time would be the time the kids are most likely to give lots of loves and hugs!!  :)  (That's a general observation from many years of this thing I do!! Ha!)  Atley was slightly surprised and said, "Svea gave me a hug!!"  And 3 or 4 more times just like this!!  :) These next two pictures basically go together!!  Avi was laying on the floor and Svea was covering her with a doll blanket.  Atley saw what they were doing so she decided to do similar play.  So she went and laid in front of the gate and "covered up" with her doll blanket!!  Haha!  This cracks me up so much because it's SO Atley!!  She makes me laugh an...

Atley ate two servings of whole wheat bagel and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of hamburger and sausage pizza, with the meat, peppers, pineapple, olives, and tomato sauce.  She ate whole wheat pizza crust (we serve it separately), and pineapple on the side. First picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  This has been a favorite activity lately; Avi getting buried with pillows, stuffed animals, doll blankets, dolls, and I even see a few books in the picture.  :) Avi is laying near the edge of the couch and you can see 1 foot, 1 hand, and also her "tail" which is hanging over the edge.  She kept saying, "Hey Callahan!  Grab my tail!  Callahan!  Grab my tail!"  He was in the picture moments before I took this!  :) This picture is also left over from yesterday afternoon.  Atley asked to feed Callahan again.  I think this is the 2nd time she's fed him.  When Nora is here she ALWAYS wants to fee...

Atley ate two servings of whole wheat toast and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch: ate most of pork roast, bites of whole wheat tortillas, no hash browns, no sweet potatoes, and ate a large serving of fruit salad.  Here's another picture of Avi and Atley at Lunch.  They're doing very well with serving themselves and pouring their own milk. Next picture; Garbage workers with their truck!  The highlight of the morning.  The kids sprint for the window when we notice the workers!  :)  Atley frequently calls it the "trash truck."  She said, "I saw the trash truck."  Avilene said, "Well maybe it's a garbage truck."  Haha. Next picture:  Avi has on a lioness suit and she got a microphone for her and Atley.  Avi said, "Hey Atley, let's sing a banjo song."  Haha, I've no idea what a banjo song might be, but she started singing, "Shoo fly don't bother me!"  So there you go, a banjo song!!  Next Avi said, ...

Atley ate two servings of whole wheat English muffin and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she didn't try the chicken with stir fry vegetables, ate brown rice, and mandarin oranges.  (I finally found some mandarin oranges in 100% juice!)  This first picture as you can see was at meal time. (Lunch)  Avi was giving Atley all the details and instructions on her upcoming Birthday Party.  Avi said, "Gary!!  Where's my Birthday Party again!?!"  I roared!  Uhhhh....you better consult with your Mom on  that question!!  Included in this discussion was this doozy; "And you have to make me a birthday card!!""  LOL!!  Atley said, "What color do you want?"  Avi said, "Pink and Blue."  Atley said, "We don't have pink crayon."  Avi said, "Ok, orange and blue then!!"  :) This next picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  It was a wonderful afternoon and comfortable with long sleeves, but no jacket. ...

Atley ate cheerios and bites of banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat pita bread, no tomatoes, no avocado, and ate three servings of watermelon. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the kids were busy on toy exchange Monday!!  One to the first things Atley did was read the preschool books.  She was singing songs as well while looking at the books; songs totally unrelated to the books!!  :)  That was driving Avi crazy!      For example. Atley was looking at a book with a beaver (which matched her beaver mask) and she was singing, "Froggie went a courting, hmm hmm...."  Avi said, "That is a beaver, NOT a froggie!!" More Atley songs; She was singing, "Down by the Bay....Have you ever seen a beaver kissing a beaver!?!"  Speaking of beaver AGAIN, she wore that mask until about 10:20!  More songs she sang (while ignoring Avilene) "Four and twenty blackbirds"  "We wish you a Merry ...
