Atley - 10/10/2019

Atley ate two servings of whole wheat bagel and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of hamburger and sausage pizza, with the meat, peppers, pineapple, olives, and tomato sauce.  She ate whole wheat pizza crust (we serve it separately), and pineapple on the side.

First picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  This has been a favorite activity lately; Avi getting buried with pillows, stuffed animals, doll blankets, dolls, and I even see a few books in the picture.  :) Avi is laying near the edge of the couch and you can see 1 foot, 1 hand, and also her "tail" which is hanging over the edge.  She kept saying, "Hey Callahan!  Grab my tail!  Callahan!  Grab my tail!"  He was in the picture moments before I took this!  :)

This picture is also left over from yesterday afternoon.  Atley asked to feed Callahan again.  I think this is the 2nd time she's fed him.  When Nora is here she ALWAYS wants to feed him and Avi has been asking occasionally as well.  Atley did great (with an occasional reminder to focus) even though this may not be her favorite activity.  She even bent down and kissed his forehead in the middle of feeding.  (Which she sees me doing, but hey, it was super sweet!)

Last picture - one of the activities she did in the preschool room.  This is a basically matching the colors and filling the holes with the pieces provided.  Nice work Atley and you stayed right on task very nicely.

This isn't just about Atley, but I think you'll like it.  At the breakfast table when everyone was just about done eating Avilene started whipping her head side-to-side really fast and furious - just being a goof and showing-off!  Nora and Atley were laughing hard of course and started doing the same thing, squealing louder every passing second!  I told Avi, "Hold your head still please."  Hudson never misses an opportunity to add his two cents worth, and he followed with this; "Or your ponytail will fall out!"  haha!  (The fact that Avi didn't have a ponytail was apparently irrelevant!) Atley ate whole wheat English muffin and mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. I'm not exactly sure what brought about the conversation about our "heart," but Atley informed everyone "I know when your heart breaks." Oh really, when is that? "When you're NOT in love." Then after a few moments she added; "When you die." :) Today was Science with Lauralea and the kids were super excited as always. The theme was "our tongue" and "taste buds." Lots of tasting today! As you can see in the first picture we had a partially completed (ha) diagram of the tongue and we briefly told the kids where their taste buds are located. Atley - 9/29/2017

Atley ate malt-o-meal cereal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of "beef kabobs" (beef, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms), ate whole wheat toast, and pineapple. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was squatted down in the middle of the sidewalk watching school kids walk home.  Avilene saw her squatting there and ran to join her.  Not too much to say about this picture except for the fact I think it's adorable!! In this next picture Hudson was holding a mirror in front of Atley's face and he said, "This is Atley."  Ha!  These are some new mirrors I got; one side magnifies and the other side distorts!  (Hey!  Just trying to start them off with a good self-image! Ha!)
