Atley - 10/15/2019

Atley ate two servings of whole wheat English muffin and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork chop, whole wheat toast, and most of beets, and ate her applesauce.  Lunch conversation: Avilene said, "Pass the pork."  Atley; "What is that; meat?"  "Yes."  Some of you may recall a lunch conversation a few months ago about where pork comes from.  So here we go again: I asked, "Where does pork come from?"  Avi nailed it first time; "Pig."  Yes, good job.  Atley looked at other food on her plate and asked, "Does beets come from ducks?!?"  Uhhh.....no.  I roared; that was too cute and funny.  So later Atley asked, "Does bread come from owls?"  Haha!  "No."

Lauralea had a few minutes to hang out with the kids before leaving for work and they enjoyed it.  It's been quite awhile since that happened!!  (About three different times Linnea said, "Hi Lor Lor."). Atley was being snuggly and Callahan was reaching for Linnea's flashlight!  :)

Next picture: Linnea and Svea were pushing the chair around and around.  Atley joined them and was laying on the floor with the microphone yelling, "Red light!!  Green light!!"  But without too much success!  It worked better when she simply said, "GO!  STOP!!"  Ha!  Second picture: Some backward flops!  Third picture; We were laying out the beads and measuring them.

Last picture: This was shortly before Lunch time and it started with Svea sitting next to Atley.  Atley had invited her up on the couch by asking Svea if she wanted to snuggle.  Svea crawled right up and it was very cute and sweet.  (You can see in the picture that Atley still has her arms around Svea.) Then the other two climbed up and joined them.  So I got a group picture; which with this age group is not easy.  But I thought it was cute how Linnea was bent over looking at Atley.  :)

Atley ate whole wheat bagel and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger pizza with whole wheat crust, tomato sauce, olives, peppers, mushrooms, and pineapple. This isn't just about Atley, but I think you'll like it.  At the breakfast table when everyone was just about done eating Avilene started whipping her head side-to-side really fast and furious - just being a goof and showing-off!  Nora and Atley were laughing hard of course and started doing the same thing, squealing louder every passing second!  I told Avi, "Hold your head still please."  Hudson never misses an opportunity to add his two cents worth, and he followed with this; "Or your ponytail will fall out!"  haha!  (The fact that Avi didn't have a ponytail was apparently irrelevant!) Atley ate whole wheat English muffin and mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. I'm not exactly sure what brought about the conversation about our "heart," but Atley informed everyone "I know when your heart breaks." Oh really, when is that? "When you're NOT in love." Then after a few moments she added; "When you die." :) Today was Science with Lauralea and the kids were super excited as always. The theme was "our tongue" and "taste buds." Lots of tasting today! As you can see in the first picture we had a partially completed (ha) diagram of the tongue and we briefly told the kids where their taste buds are located. Atley - 9/29/2017

Atley ate malt-o-meal cereal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of "beef kabobs" (beef, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms), ate whole wheat toast, and pineapple. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was squatted down in the middle of the sidewalk watching school kids walk home.  Avilene saw her squatting there and ran to join her.  Not too much to say about this picture except for the fact I think it's adorable!! In this next picture Hudson was holding a mirror in front of Atley's face and he said, "This is Atley."  Ha!  These are some new mirrors I got; one side magnifies and the other side distorts!  (Hey!  Just trying to start them off with a good self-image! Ha!)
