Atley ate two servings of waffle and a bite of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she had bites of Shepard's Pie with hamburger, carrots, green beans, and potatoes.  She also had bites of whole wheat tortilla and ate her cherries. When we were playing outside this morning one of the dump truck drivers saw the kids watching from the fence and honked his horn at them.  Thank you driver!  The kids loved it.  Hudson said, "He honked at us!" In the first picture Atley (the other kids did as well) was watching the neighbors prepare their motor home for some camping. That took almost 3 hours so it was lots of entertainment.  The kids especially liked watching them tie down their two canoes on top of the motorhome.  "Be careful!!" Everyone was ready to go outside so in this next picture Atley was helping Nora finish up her puzzle so we could go out.  Thank you Atley.  The last picture; well it's always easy to spot Atley in the pictures; s...

Atley ate two servings of french toast and bites of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of "whole 30" chili with meat, tomato sauce, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, peppers, and spices.  She ate whole wheat dinner roll and ate tropical fruit (with the exception of pineapple.) We rarely have any kind of "screen time" at Little Treasures, but the one exception is for "explore.org" and in July and August (the best months) we sometimes watch the big Alaskan Brown (Grizzly) bears feeding on salmon at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park.  We watched yesterday for the first time this year and the kids liked it almost as much as I did!  :)  (They were asking again today, but we didn't take the time for it.)  Yesterday we were counting up to 15 salmon jumping in the air at the same time trying to make it up the Falls and the bears were having lots of easy meals. I took this first picture because I thought it was cute how gentle Atley was being wi...

Atley ate toasted whole wheat english muffin and grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of pork chops, ate whole wheat toast, no potatoes, no sweet potatoes, and ate a large serving of applesauce. When Lauralea was leaving this morning Atley was kind of bonking/pushing Lauralea with a pillow.  Oh man, Nora just thought that was the funniest thing ever!  Atley can almost always make Nora do a hard belly laugh at least once or twice a day - usually several times!! Here are some pictures from Atley's morning at Little Treasures!  She was reading and singing loudly like she always does, but what I didn't get into this first picture was Linnea standing against the left arm of the couch totally enjoying it and making loud noises along with Atley.  It was so cute.  In the 2nd picture Atley said, "Hey Gary, I covered baby (Svea) with blankets."  Ha!  Well thank you; I'm sure she'll stay warm!  Look how Svea is grinning at me; she is always...

Atley arrived after breakfast time.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat hamburger bun, no tomatoes, no avocado, and ate half of her oranges. We were outside playing - actually doing art outside - when Atley arrived!  We were experimenting with these art/paint boards that I can hang anywhere.  They are going to work great, although we'll just use them for painting and dot painting.  Today the kids played with markers and it was hard for them to "snap" the lids back on.  Consequently we had lids all over the ground. Nora was so happy when Atley arrived and she began to chuckle!  :)  So cute.  "Ok, now my buddy has arrived and things will get silly!"  :)  They played together a lot this morning!!  (Nora was only here on Monday of last week.) Last picture; Atley still wearing her cool shades!!  She has a long stem of grass in her hand and they were all sticking stems of grass in their mouths; and then laughing at ea...

Atley arrived about mid-morning so for lunch she ate tilapia, a large serving of whole wheat elbow noodles covered with lots of applesauce, and no green beans.  This conversation took place at breakfast before Atley arrived, but I think you'll like it anyhow.  And Atley DID go swimming at the Country Club Pool yesterday.  Apparently there was a pooping incident and it (the smaller kiddie pool) had to be drained.  Avi  REALLY  wanted the guilty culprit's identity!!!  She repeatedly (like 5 or 6 times) asked, "Who pooped in the pool!?!"  Hudson said, "I don't know them."  :) We were getting ready to go outside when Atley arrived this morning.  So that was great timing for the transition.  She had lots of fun outside and played with bikes (first picture), the climbers (last picture), and finding bugs.  (second picture.)  Bugs are one of Atley's favorite things to explore.  Toys are just secondary to all the good stuff ...

Atley ate most of whole wheat bagel and two servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger and sausage pizza with whole wheat pizza crust, tomato sauce, peppers, olives, and pineapple.  She had pineapple on the side and ate about half of it too. Everyone was moving slow this morning!  Only two kids were here by breakfast time (9:00) and one of those (Linnea) was already taking a morning nap!  :)  So all things considered Atley did just fine this morning.  It took awhile for her to get awake enough to even want to play so I just told her she was welcome to lay on her nap mat if she wanted too!  You bet!!  :)  She probably lay there for 10 - 15 minutes and then was ready to start her day. These next two pictures were taken shortly after Atley got up from her nap mat.  She didn't even ask where the other kids were; she just had fun playing and reading books.  She also watched the neighbor move his fishing boat a...

Atley ate whole wheat english muffin and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she most of chicken with stir fry vegetables, a large serving of brown rice and no oranges. I figured out the technology problem with the pictures not downloading!  Here's how I fixed it; "Hey Lauralea, do you have any idea what may be happening here!?!" My part of the problem solving was then over!  Ha!  Thank you Lauralea.  This first picture is from yesterday and I like it a lot so I'm gonna post it today.  Atley reading!  If you look close the name of the book is "Bill Grogen's Goat." (We sing this one.)  I also like the stash of books she has ready!! When the kids were waving at parents this morning they spotted the moon.  By the time the last parent went by everyone (it originated with Nora and Atley) was saying, "my moon, my moon, my moon!"  Ha!  Really!?!  We're gonna argue about ownership of the moon!?!  Haha! Nora and Atley ...
