Atley - 7/6/2018

Atley arrived about mid-morning so for lunch she ate tilapia, a large serving of whole wheat elbow noodles covered with lots of applesauce, and no green beans.  This conversation took place at breakfast before Atley arrived, but I think you'll like it anyhow.  And Atley DID go swimming at the Country Club Pool yesterday.  Apparently there was a pooping incident and it (the smaller kiddie pool) had to be drained.  Avi REALLY wanted the guilty culprit's identity!!!  She repeatedly (like 5 or 6 times) asked, "Who pooped in the pool!?!"  Hudson said, "I don't know them."  :)

We were getting ready to go outside when Atley arrived this morning.  So that was great timing for the transition.  She had lots of fun outside and played with bikes (first picture), the climbers (last picture), and finding bugs.  (second picture.)  Bugs are one of Atley's favorite things to explore.  Toys are just secondary to all the good stuff you can find on the ground!!  :)

Here are a couple more outside pictures.  So at first glance you'd be inclined to think Atley is admiring baby Svea, right!?  :)  Well Atley does like the babies, but she's not just perched on the ball for Baby admiration!  She REALLY wanted to get her hands on those baby toys.  Ha!  But the rule says, "only babies on the blankets" and she was following the rule.  :)  It cracks me up; the baby only has access to the toys I provide, the other kids can play with whatever they want inside or outside, but they always want what the babies have!!  :)  I took the last picture when Atley was playing on the climber and I think it's very cute.  :)

Atley ate whole wheat bagel and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger pizza with whole wheat crust, tomato sauce, olives, peppers, mushrooms, and pineapple. This isn't just about Atley, but I think you'll like it.  At the breakfast table when everyone was just about done eating Avilene started whipping her head side-to-side really fast and furious - just being a goof and showing-off!  Nora and Atley were laughing hard of course and started doing the same thing, squealing louder every passing second!  I told Avi, "Hold your head still please."  Hudson never misses an opportunity to add his two cents worth, and he followed with this; "Or your ponytail will fall out!"  haha!  (The fact that Avi didn't have a ponytail was apparently irrelevant!) Atley ate whole wheat English muffin and mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. I'm not exactly sure what brought about the conversation about our "heart," but Atley informed everyone "I know when your heart breaks." Oh really, when is that? "When you're NOT in love." Then after a few moments she added; "When you die." :) Today was Science with Lauralea and the kids were super excited as always. The theme was "our tongue" and "taste buds." Lots of tasting today! As you can see in the first picture we had a partially completed (ha) diagram of the tongue and we briefly told the kids where their taste buds are located. Atley - 9/29/2017

Atley ate malt-o-meal cereal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of "beef kabobs" (beef, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms), ate whole wheat toast, and pineapple. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was squatted down in the middle of the sidewalk watching school kids walk home.  Avilene saw her squatting there and ran to join her.  Not too much to say about this picture except for the fact I think it's adorable!! In this next picture Hudson was holding a mirror in front of Atley's face and he said, "This is Atley."  Ha!  These are some new mirrors I got; one side magnifies and the other side distorts!  (Hey!  Just trying to start them off with a good self-image! Ha!)
