Atley - 08/09/2021

Atley ate cheerios and half of banana for breakfast. For lunch she ate ground beef, two servings of whole wheat pita bread, ate olives, avocado, and two servings of watermelon.

Svea's Mom texted and asked if I'd check Svea's hair for ticks. So I very thoroughly (I hope) checked and found no ticks!! I said, "Boy the pressure is on!! If Molly finds a tick after I check I'm in deep doo doo!" Atley said, "What's doo doo?" Avilene knew and she immediately answered, "Trouble!" Haha!

Atley was commenting about one of the stuffed animals. She said, "It smells good." Well it should; we did a toy exchange and that's been washed with bleach added. Cal picked up a stuffed animal and said, "This one smells warm." Haha. That made me laugh. I guess warm can be a nice smell.

First picture: Atley spotted a deer outside the window and Cal came over to have a look too. (Cal and Atley were the only ones here.) Second picture: The drums are in this toy set and all 5 drums were in use at the same time. Obviously only 2 in the picture, so I guess you'll have to take my word for it. I'd asked Alexa to play "Little Drummer Boy" and that always make me think about when Svea would ask for "Little Drummer Girl." :)

Next picture: Atley and Nora were building with the Little legos and Avi joined them and stated searching for the special legos pieces that Nora needed for her project. Thanks for your help Avi. Last picture: Nora and Atley having fun with another Preschool Activity.

Atley ate whole wheat bagel and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger pizza with whole wheat crust, tomato sauce, olives, peppers, mushrooms, and pineapple. This isn't just about Atley, but I think you'll like it.  At the breakfast table when everyone was just about done eating Avilene started whipping her head side-to-side really fast and furious - just being a goof and showing-off!  Nora and Atley were laughing hard of course and started doing the same thing, squealing louder every passing second!  I told Avi, "Hold your head still please."  Hudson never misses an opportunity to add his two cents worth, and he followed with this; "Or your ponytail will fall out!"  haha!  (The fact that Avi didn't have a ponytail was apparently irrelevant!) So we're hearing new words every day from Atley!  Very cool.  This morning shortly after she arrived she was playing in front of the igloo and randomly said, "tiger." What!?!  Surpr...

Atley ate whole wheat English muffin and mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. I'm not exactly sure what brought about the conversation about our "heart," but Atley informed everyone "I know when your heart breaks." Oh really, when is that? "When you're NOT in love." Then after a few moments she added; "When you die." :) Today was Science with Lauralea and the kids were super excited as always. The theme was "our tongue" and "taste buds." Lots of tasting today! As you can see in the first picture we had a partially completed (ha) diagram of the tongue and we briefly told the kids where their taste buds are located. So we started by having them plug their nose and experimented with them deciding if they could taste better with their nose plugged or unplugged. Then we moved on to lots of tasting. "Is it sw...

Atley ate malt-o-meal cereal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of "beef kabobs" (beef, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms), ate whole wheat toast, and pineapple. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was squatted down in the middle of the sidewalk watching school kids walk home.  Avilene saw her squatting there and ran to join her.  Not too much to say about this picture except for the fact I think it's adorable!! In this next picture Hudson was holding a mirror in front of Atley's face and he said, "This is Atley."  Ha!  These are some new mirrors I got; one side magnifies and the other side distorts!  (Hey!  Just trying to start them off with a good self-image! Ha!) There were several robins in the yard when I took these last two pictures.  The robin in the first picture hopped down to the ground and Hudson said, "He fell off!"  Haha!  Robins are one of the more "calm...
