Atley - 05/03/2021

Atley ate half of kix cereal and half of fruit cocktail for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground turkey, toasted whole wheat sandwich thins, bite of tomato, no avocado, and ate peaches. 

First thing this morning Cal was saying, "Hey Gary, I wanna color! Hey Gary I wanna color!" Atley was the only other child here at that moment and she went up to Callahan and kinda whispered; "Cal, you can say please if you want to." Haha. Geez, that was cute and so funny how she added, "if you want to."

First picture; Atley, Nora, and Svea were playing hide-n-seek. Nora and Svea built a pretty elaborate "hiding spot" and kept telling Atley, "we're not ready yet." So Atley just patiently waited on the other side of the room and listening to them banging around inside the changing table. Ha. She knew exactly where they were of course, but that didn't seem to hinder anyone's enthusiasm for the game.

Next picture; I thought maybe she picked up this book because it was Daddy's Birthday. :) But no, it was purely a coincidence! :) Really cool how she was absorbed in this book and identifying letters. And she was doing it aloud so I could hear what she was doing.

Last picture; So speaking of Dad's Birthday; Atley did a piece of Art for Daddy and then asked me to write a quote on it for her. She said this is a picture of a "hotdog truck!" So I'm guessing this came from a cartoon or video she's watched.

Atley ate whole wheat bagel and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger pizza with whole wheat crust, tomato sauce, olives, peppers, mushrooms, and pineapple. This isn't just about Atley, but I think you'll like it.  At the breakfast table when everyone was just about done eating Avilene started whipping her head side-to-side really fast and furious - just being a goof and showing-off!  Nora and Atley were laughing hard of course and started doing the same thing, squealing louder every passing second!  I told Avi, "Hold your head still please."  Hudson never misses an opportunity to add his two cents worth, and he followed with this; "Or your ponytail will fall out!"  haha!  (The fact that Avi didn't have a ponytail was apparently irrelevant!) Atley ate whole wheat English muffin and mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. I'm not exactly sure what brought about the conversation about our "heart," but Atley informed everyone "I know when your heart breaks." Oh really, when is that? "When you're NOT in love." Then after a few moments she added; "When you die." :) Today was Science with Lauralea and the kids were super excited as always. The theme was "our tongue" and "taste buds." Lots of tasting today! As you can see in the first picture we had a partially completed (ha) diagram of the tongue and we briefly told the kids where their taste buds are located. Atley - 9/29/2017

Atley ate malt-o-meal cereal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of "beef kabobs" (beef, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms), ate whole wheat toast, and pineapple. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was squatted down in the middle of the sidewalk watching school kids walk home.  Avilene saw her squatting there and ran to join her.  Not too much to say about this picture except for the fact I think it's adorable!! In this next picture Hudson was holding a mirror in front of Atley's face and he said, "This is Atley."  Ha!  These are some new mirrors I got; one side magnifies and the other side distorts!  (Hey!  Just trying to start them off with a good self-image! Ha!) There were several robins in the yard when I took these last two pictures.  The robin in the first picture hopped down to the ground and Hudson said, "He fell off!"  Haha!  Robins are one of the more "calm...
