Atley - 02/12/2021
Atley ate brown rice and raisins for breakfast. For lunch she ate two servings of salmon, ate whole wheat dinner roll, riced cauliflower, and three servings of mangoes.
First picture: Making some more Valentine's cards. Ok, I'm gonna write about what happened shortly after I took the picture. I wrote on the front of these cards for the kids - at their request - Nora did both sets of Grandparents and Atley did a card for Nana and Papa. Nora told me all 4 names of her Grandparents. Then Nora asked Atley, "What's Nana and Papa's names?" Atley said, "Nana and Papa." This quickly escalated and Nora was yelling, "No it's NOT!" Nora (at this point FURIOUS and near HYSTERICS - I'm not exaggerating) Yelled, "My name is NORA, your name is ATLEY, they have a NAME!! (Good logic by the way.) Atley just sat there looking at Nora with a half-amused look on her face. Nora wasn't done; "Mine is Pam and Greg! Jerry and Diane. What is their NAME!?!" Atley; "Nana and Papa." Nora screaming; "NO IT'S NOT!!" Ok, time for Gary to help out because this was not going well. Atley seemed slightly mystified as to why Nora couldn't simply accept their names as Nana and Papa. Atley said, "I can ask them." (Which was a great idea.) So I talked to Nora and suggested she think about the fact that her friend Atley is being honest; maybe she doesn't know their "real" names. By the way, caring for these older kids is pretty fascinating for me. :)
Next two pictures - Some of Atley's art work from the morning. The yellow on both pictures is "lightning." The top of the first picture is a "Dog running from the lightning." It's actually pretty representational of a dog if you hold the paper just right. Ha. The tongue hanging out, the nose, the eye, and the ear. I see a bit of "Snoopy" in this picture. :) The last picture is "lightning and they're (the people) scared," she said. Atley frequently talks about weather and occasionally draws "weather." Well done Atley. Have a wonderful long weekend everyone.
