Atley - 5/1/2020

Atley ate bites of oatmeal and ate dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate tilapia, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate green beans, and three servings of applesauce.

First picture: Atley and Nora playing a favorite game; especially first thing in the morning when it's only a couple of kids here.  Atley said, "Let's run Nora, let's run!!"  And away they go!!  From the window to the mattress back and forth.  Atley was energized this morning.  Lots of excitement about Linnea coming today.  Linnea plans to be here 7 days in May (IF they can do their planned vacation to the Oregon coast this month.) and 10 days in June before she moves on to Brother Ander's school.

Next picture - Atley had her legs up the wall and was saying things like; "Hey Gary, Hey Gary!!"  "Look at the wall!  Look at my legs on the wall!!"  "Take a picture of this!!"  " Does it look cool!?! " "Let me see the picture!!"  Then she kept trying and in the following picture she got it done!!  Good work Atley!!

Last picture:  I never did get a picture of Atley with Linnea!!  Everyone was trying to get close to Linnea, but you know Atley, she was like "whatever."  I took this last picture minutes after Linnea's Daddy left.  Where is Atley?  Sitting at the table in the Preschool room doing a tray.  Haha.  This was actually kind of funny and here it is; There were two things going on at the same time.  Avi was busy quizzing Linnea about the color chart; "Is this purple!?  Is this purple!?  Is this purple?!?"  At the same time Svea was trying to get Linnea to look at her cheerleader dress.  "Go Vikings. Go Vikings. Go Vikings."  Haha.

Atley ate whole wheat bagel and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger pizza with whole wheat crust, tomato sauce, olives, peppers, mushrooms, and pineapple. This isn't just about Atley, but I think you'll like it.  At the breakfast table when everyone was just about done eating Avilene started whipping her head side-to-side really fast and furious - just being a goof and showing-off!  Nora and Atley were laughing hard of course and started doing the same thing, squealing louder every passing second!  I told Avi, "Hold your head still please."  Hudson never misses an opportunity to add his two cents worth, and he followed with this; "Or your ponytail will fall out!"  haha!  (The fact that Avi didn't have a ponytail was apparently irrelevant!) So we're hearing new words every day from Atley!  Very cool.  This morning shortly after she arrived she was playing in front of the igloo and randomly said, "tiger." What!?!  Surpr...

Atley ate whole wheat English muffin and mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. I'm not exactly sure what brought about the conversation about our "heart," but Atley informed everyone "I know when your heart breaks." Oh really, when is that? "When you're NOT in love." Then after a few moments she added; "When you die." :) Today was Science with Lauralea and the kids were super excited as always. The theme was "our tongue" and "taste buds." Lots of tasting today! As you can see in the first picture we had a partially completed (ha) diagram of the tongue and we briefly told the kids where their taste buds are located. So we started by having them plug their nose and experimented with them deciding if they could taste better with their nose plugged or unplugged. Then we moved on to lots of tasting. "Is it sw...

Atley ate malt-o-meal cereal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of "beef kabobs" (beef, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms), ate whole wheat toast, and pineapple. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was squatted down in the middle of the sidewalk watching school kids walk home.  Avilene saw her squatting there and ran to join her.  Not too much to say about this picture except for the fact I think it's adorable!! In this next picture Hudson was holding a mirror in front of Atley's face and he said, "This is Atley."  Ha!  These are some new mirrors I got; one side magnifies and the other side distorts!  (Hey!  Just trying to start them off with a good self-image! Ha!) There were several robins in the yard when I took these last two pictures.  The robin in the first picture hopped down to the ground and Hudson said, "He fell off!"  Haha!  Robins are one of the more "calm...
