Atley ate two servings of waffle and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, bites of whole wheat tortillas, ate corn and baked cinnamon apples.  We were talking at Lunch time and I told Nora, "It's been really fun having you hang out with us for a few days."  Atley looked at Nora and said, "It's been really fun to meet you."  LOL  Oh man I roared.  That was SO cute and funny.  She wasn't trying to be funny; which of course made it even funnier. First picture:  This is from yesterday afternoon, but they were doing the exact same thing again this morning.  I have some cars powered by batteries and they work so much better on the hardwood floor.  Second picture; Atley responded to Nora asking for some help with her puzzle.  Third picture: Atley reading some books in the Preschool room. Last picture:  I took this picture when the girls were searching for "Woody" and the "airplane." They are always asking fo...

Atley ate bites of kix cereal and ate mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of ground turkey hash with meat, peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, sweet potatoes, and spices.  She ate two servings of whole wheat hamburger bun, and ate cherries. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend - well mostly Sylvie (Avi and Svea's sister) did it.  Ha!  My involvement is paying for the help, so I feel like I can say "we."  :)  As usual the kids were super busy and engaged all morning. Here are some pictures from Atley's morning: She was the first one here and the first thing she grabbed was a puzzle in the Preschool room.  She really likes these kinds of puzzles and she's good at them.  Way to go Atley!!  In the second picture she and Nora were playing with the small doll house in the Daycare room.  The third picture is a new activity we found that they had fun with this morning.  There are different colored threaded "...

Atley ate bran cereal and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch he ate chicken, whole wheat pita bread, bite of tomatoes, bite of avocado, and ate pears. Left over from Friday afternoon:  The wind was blowing pretty strong and she was watching the neighbor's Christmas yard ornaments moving back and forth.  She said, "OH NO!  I'm scared the Christmas things will get blowed over!!  I am not happy about that."  :) I took this first picture minutes after Atley arrived and she was bouncing off the walls; pretty excited because Nana and Papa are coming today.  Then she found out Nora was gonna be here too.  Life just doesn't get more exciting than that.  All in one day too!!  I asked Atley, "Are you excited?"  And this is the look I got.  Ha!  Then she took off to jump on the mattress. I took this next picture right after Nora came and she was excited too!!  Jumping across the mattress on one foot!  They were giggl...

Our meals today are different than the posted meals.  A couple of unforeseen difficulties, so for lunch I used leftovers from Wednesday lunch.  For breakfast; Atley ate half of cheerios and half of dried plums.  For Lunch she ate several bites of leftover "Whole 30" chili with meat, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, peppers, tomato sauce, and lots of yummy spices.  She also ate whole wheat dinner roll and half of pineapple.  During lunch time Atley was telling me a story and I couldn't figure out what the heck she was talking about.  I finally said, "I don't know what you're talking about."  Atley said, "I don't either."  LOL!!  That totally hit my funny bone and I roared. First picture; There are 5 of the Daycare kids in this picture; Baby Miles was taking a nap.  It's hard to catch more than 2 or 3 in a picture at the same time.  The kids have really enjoyed having the big bears out to play with for three days this week.  They will...

Atley ate waffle and ate no fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of Meat loaf, bites of whole wheat tortillas, bites of carrots, and ate cherries. First picture from yesterday afternoon: She's been trying to flop over backwards, but has now mastered doing it with her legs stiff.  :)  Score is 10!!  Nice work Atley!!  Haha! This picture from yesterday afternoon.  I got out the two big bears and the kids had a blast with them the rest of the afternoon and the majority of the morning as well!!  It was almost 10:30 this morning before they played with anything else; and then several times they went back to the bears. Well I'm pretty serious about the morning being all bears all the time!!  Ha!!  First picture; Atley looks very similar here as in the picture above!!  Haha!!  I'm not sure what Avi was pointing at or who she was even talking to!  It's obvious that Atley is in her own world!!  Haha!! ...

Atley ate most of her French toast and most of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite of "Whole 30" chili with meat, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, peppers, tomato sauce, and lots of yummy spices.  She ate whole wheat dinner roll and tropical fruit. At the same time I took this first picture Atley found her airplane that was hidden.  You can see Avilene in the background searching for "Woody."  Woody is sitting on the seat of the chair directly ahead of Avi toward the door.  Second picture: Atley and Avilene have been doing LOTS of Christmas art this week.  Which I'm sure you've noticed by the impressive stacks on their cubbies.  :) Last picture:  Atley found this tray this morning.  It's been there since the toy exchange, but neither of them bothered to look at it.  There are 2 books and they are "Kellogg's Fruit-loop Fun" books.  With a basket of fruit loops on the side.  One of the books has to do with co...

Atley ate most of whole wheat English muffin and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork chop meat, two servings of whole wheat toast, ate beets, and ate applesauce. Yesterday afternoon at snack time the kids were eating pears and graham crackers.  After taking a couple bites of cracker Avi commented about her cracker; "this looks like Montana."  Haha!  Atley immediately said something about her cracker; "This looks like an airport train."  LOL!!  Also yesterday afternoon while we were picking up toys Avi and Atley were expending LOTS of energy arguing about who was working the hardest.  Avi said, "I'm working hard."  Atley said, "I'm working hard better ."  Haha! First picture: Atley found a good place to stash some of the little Christmas stuffed animals.  (I think they're penguins - I could look closer I guess.  Ha)  Second picture: She was pretty intrigued with them once she found out they had velcro on their ...

Atley ate most of whole wheat Chex cereal and no peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat hamburger bun, bite of tomatoes, no avocado, and ate mandarin oranges.  As usual Avi and Atley started quizzing me about where food comes from.  "Where does meat come from?"  I responded, "How about you guys answer that one!  Where does meat come from?"  Atley said, "Meatballs."  Ha!  No, meatballs come from meat. This first picture is left over from Friday afternoon, but I don't want to waste a good picture!!  When it was just Svea, Avi, and Atley left - everyone else was gone - I got out the new robot vacuum to show the kids and they loved it.  At least Atley liked it from a distance!  In the picture Avi was trying to coax her to get closer, but Atley was perfectly happy keeping her distance!! We had a good morning for the most part - with some "Monday antics" mixed in!!  Ha!  Atley stayed busy with r...

Atley ate most of oatmeal and most of dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate tilapia, two  servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate green beans, and two servings of applesauce. Ok, I've gotta mention this!  Atley is still lamenting the fact that Daddy Brad had a tooth removed! LOL.  And she says it in such a pitiful way that's hard not to laugh!!  "My POOOOR Dad got a tooth out!!"  :) During Story Time we were reading "Twelve Days of Christmas" and I was pausing so Avi and Atley could finish the sentences and it was pretty impressive!!  They can essentially do all twelve gifts.  Avi cracked me up on one of them; "Eight Maids a milking."  Avi said, "Eight Milkers Milking."  (which makes total sense) So stinking cute. Here are some pictures from this morning.  I think Atley looks SO big in this first picture; with her in the foreground it just accentuates it!  Next two pictures:  Atley and Linnea have so...

Atley ate two servings of whole wheat bagel and ate most of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite of hamburger and sausage pizza with the two meats, olives, pineapple, tomato sauce, and peppers.  She ate whole wheat pizza crust (served separately), and ate pineapple on the side. A notice for everyone - you might see a slight difference in time of Blog Postings.  Today is Callahan's first birthday so it's Blog Time for Cal.  So now I'm doing 5 Blogs.  I actually love doing them; especially for families out of town. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon and I like how Atley just went over (unsolicited) and lay by Baby Miles and started reading a book.  Very sweet.  Today's pictures are heavy to reading, but that's a good thing!! Next picture: So this cracked me up!!  Avi and Atley are playing the Sequence" board game again and found this paper/advertisement in the box.  They stretched it out and there are probably 30...

Atley ate most of whole wheat toast and half of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork roast, whole wheat tortillas, bites of sweet potatoes, and ate fruit salad. Atley and Avi are at the age where they occasionally make "competition" out of everything.  "I win! I win!"  This morning Atley was running across the room and told Avi, "Do NOT follow me."  Then Atley made it to the window and said, "You lose."  Geez.  Silly kids.  Well that's one way to ensure you "win" - just eliminate the competition.  Side note: At this age I don't really encourage or discourage competition.  They are learning it somewhere (even though they really don't understand it fully) and I just work on their social/emotional skills; treating each other with fairness and kindness. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon and Atley was styling with these comfy pants from the dress-up rack.  :)  Today I kept asking her why she wa...

Atley ate whole wheat English muffin and half of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate several bites of chicken stir fry, ate brown rice, and ate mandarin oranges.  At lunch Atley said (in reference to the chicken stir fry), "I think I love this stuff Gary."  Which reminds me of........she frequently says, "I love you Gary!"  Randomly, which is very sweet, or sometimes when she can't think of anything else to say, or sometimes if she thinks I may not approve of her behavior, etc....  Well once this morning she said, "I kind of love you Gary."  Haha. That cracked me up!  Maybe I've been down-graded!! Atley was playing with Linnea and pretending to drink.  Then she said, "I want some real water."  Haha.  So she got herself and Linnea their water bottles.  Another Atleyism: She didn't ask to snuggle and I didn't ask her, but she randomly walked up to me and said, "I would love to snuggle."  Well good, you've ...

Atley ate cheerios and a bite of banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of ground beef, most of whole wheat pita bread, no avocado, no tomatoes, and ate a large serving of strawberries.  At the Lunch table Atley said, "Gary, my breath hurts."  What?!?  I knew I'd heard her correctly, but I needed some clarification!  Haha.  "Show me where you hurt."  So she pointed to the inside of her mouth.  Avi, of course, felt the need to jump into the conversation!  (With a high level of accusation implied) Avi asked, "Have you been licking your lips!?!?"  LOL!  All around underneath Avilene's bottom lip it's shiny red from licking.  So she's heard that question a few times. Well we did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange (or as Atley calls it; "new toy Monday") this weekend and the kids were busy all morning.  First picture: Atley did a puzzle in the preschool room and she stayed focused on this longer than just about anything...

Atley ate brown rice and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she had a bite of pollack fish, ate whole wheat dinner roll, riced cauliflower, and mangoes. This week I've hidden the little airplane every morning and Atley searches for it when she first arrives.  It makes me laugh because she and Avi both immediately go to the last spot they saw it; the place it was hiding yesterday.  Not gonna hide it in the same spot 2 days in a row.  :)  And even though I tell them that, they still go. So this first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  The kids all had a flashlight and we turned out the lights (as it was getting dark in the late afternoon) and they had fun with that.  Linnea is on the right, standing on the blue balance beam.  Atley is blinding herself in the far corner, Avi on the left looking for spiders on the ceiling, and Svea is shining her light on the mattress in front of herself. Here are some pictures from this morning. ...
