Atley - 2/4/2019

Atley ate a large serving of bran cereal and two servings of raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of chicken, whole wheat pita bread, no avocado, no peppers, no cucumbers, and ate pears.  At breakfast Atley looked out the window and said, "The snowstorm is NOT working; it's NOT snowing!"  Haha!

First picture:  Well Atley arrived and she's doing what she does best!!  Being hilarious and making the other kids laugh.  In this picture Atley is showing Linnea the proper way to wear shorts!!  It was pretty cute how Linnea followed her lead and did the exact same thing Atley was doing!!  Following picture:  I turned the box upside down and it's a cave!!  Linnea was peeking in to see what Avi and Atley were doing.

More pictures: Lauralea was catching the bus this morning and entertaining the kids through the window.  Following picture: Atley was getting on her soccer gear!  Last picture: Atley and Avi doing a preschool activity.  They were threading the balls, shapes, and tubes and they worked pretty hard at it.  Did you notice Atley has her hood up?  Avi has a hoodie and was wearing it too, but not when I took this picture.  It was kind of nice at meal time because I have to be very careful and try not to get Atley's hair caught in the slide thing in her bib!!  She's a trooper and doesn't usually complain.

Atley ate whole wheat bagel and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger pizza with whole wheat crust, tomato sauce, olives, peppers, mushrooms, and pineapple. This isn't just about Atley, but I think you'll like it.  At the breakfast table when everyone was just about done eating Avilene started whipping her head side-to-side really fast and furious - just being a goof and showing-off!  Nora and Atley were laughing hard of course and started doing the same thing, squealing louder every passing second!  I told Avi, "Hold your head still please."  Hudson never misses an opportunity to add his two cents worth, and he followed with this; "Or your ponytail will fall out!"  haha!  (The fact that Avi didn't have a ponytail was apparently irrelevant!) So we're hearing new words every day from Atley!  Very cool.  This morning shortly after she arrived she was playing in front of the igloo and randomly said, "tiger." What!?!  Surpr...

Atley ate whole wheat English muffin and mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. I'm not exactly sure what brought about the conversation about our "heart," but Atley informed everyone "I know when your heart breaks." Oh really, when is that? "When you're NOT in love." Then after a few moments she added; "When you die." :) Today was Science with Lauralea and the kids were super excited as always. The theme was "our tongue" and "taste buds." Lots of tasting today! As you can see in the first picture we had a partially completed (ha) diagram of the tongue and we briefly told the kids where their taste buds are located. So we started by having them plug their nose and experimented with them deciding if they could taste better with their nose plugged or unplugged. Then we moved on to lots of tasting. "Is it sw...

Atley ate malt-o-meal cereal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of "beef kabobs" (beef, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms), ate whole wheat toast, and pineapple. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was squatted down in the middle of the sidewalk watching school kids walk home.  Avilene saw her squatting there and ran to join her.  Not too much to say about this picture except for the fact I think it's adorable!! In this next picture Hudson was holding a mirror in front of Atley's face and he said, "This is Atley."  Ha!  These are some new mirrors I got; one side magnifies and the other side distorts!  (Hey!  Just trying to start them off with a good self-image! Ha!) There were several robins in the yard when I took these last two pictures.  The robin in the first picture hopped down to the ground and Hudson said, "He fell off!"  Haha!  Robins are one of the more "calm...
