Atley - 2/11/2019
Atley ate half of kix cereal and no mixed fruit for breakfast. For lunch she ate ground turkey, whole wheat hamburger bun, bite of avocado, no tomatoes, and ate her cherries.
This first picture is left over from Friday afternoon. It's another great example of Atley and Nora's relationship. I can't remember what Nora was mad about (something I told her she couldn't do), but she did her "slump to the floor" maneuver. And a little pouting - which gets her nowhere here! But she hasn't come up with an alternative plan yet. :) So moments later Atley mimicked her! Not too close - see picture - but within moments Nora was laughing! Atley will try and if it doesn't work she'll try again later. She's a very good friend to Nora. She knows when to move in and back off; not that she always does it right, but she tries. "Hey Nora! You wanna be silly?!" I've seen Nora "ask" the same thing, but with a different approach! Last week Nora went up to Atley and started doing "fake laughs" in Atley's face. That was Atley's clue to switch into "make Nora laugh" mode! And it worked!
Here are a couple more pictures of this silly duo! We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and everyone stayed busy all morning. Atley and Nora were looking at preschool books and activities. Nora was saying (again!) "I can't hear! I can't hear!" Notice Atley's body language in the picture; she's leaning in towards Nora! And as many already know, this girl can bring the volume! Hmmmm.... Last picture: They were wearing the dress-up jackets and said they were being "bugs." Nora a bumblebee and Atley a ladybug. Except Atley has pretty much out-grown this dress-up selection!! :)
Last picture: The big box is gone and the swivel/rocker chair is back! Atley was pushing the chair around and around and she asked, "Is that fun!?!" Meanwhile, Avi and Linnea were just looking at each other not saying anything! And I caught it at the right time. I'll answer for them Atley; "It's lots of fun and thank you!" :)
