Atley - 4/5/2018

Atley ate bites of whole wheat bagel and two servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of hamburger/sausage pizza with whole wheat crust, tomato sauce, peppers, mushrooms, pineapple, and olives.  She also ate bites of side serving of pineapple.  Hudson is hanging out with his "Pappy and Two-Two" today and and the meal times were oddly quiet!  Ha!

I'm posting these first two pictures together because Atley and Avi can play in close proximity and rarely have conflict.  Their temperaments and personalities just kind of mesh together and it's fun to watch.  (Now after saying that - next week they'll probably have major conflict!!  Ha!  But so far it's been wonderful!!)  Avi was on the chair first with the music box, then Atley joined her.  In the 2nd picture it was Avilene joining Atley to do puzzles.

Avi and Atley were going down the little slide on pillows this morning.  We also sang songs and read lots of books at Story time.  Avi asked for the "sing-along" book.  It's kind of a new book and we already knew most of the songs, but they love it and sing along wonderfully and very loudly!!  :)

Next picture: Nora was "tickling" Atley with her foot and these two were cracking up at their own antics.  Love to hear these guys laugh!!  Earlier this week I'd mentioned to Riley about these two squabbling about something.  Riley said, "I don't get that!"  What do you mean?  Riley said, "They are best friends!"  Very true and sometimes best friends have to figure things out!!  Last picture:  Baby Linnea is looking under the chair to see what the girls are doing in the fort we built!!  :)

This isn't just about Atley, but I think you'll like it.  At the breakfast table when everyone was just about done eating Avilene started whipping her head side-to-side really fast and furious - just being a goof and showing-off!  Nora and Atley were laughing hard of course and started doing the same thing, squealing louder every passing second!  I told Avi, "Hold your head still please."  Hudson never misses an opportunity to add his two cents worth, and he followed with this; "Or your ponytail will fall out!"  haha!  (The fact that Avi didn't have a ponytail was apparently irrelevant!) Atley ate whole wheat English muffin and mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. I'm not exactly sure what brought about the conversation about our "heart," but Atley informed everyone "I know when your heart breaks." Oh really, when is that? "When you're NOT in love." Then after a few moments she added; "When you die." :) Today was Science with Lauralea and the kids were super excited as always. The theme was "our tongue" and "taste buds." Lots of tasting today! As you can see in the first picture we had a partially completed (ha) diagram of the tongue and we briefly told the kids where their taste buds are located. Atley - 9/29/2017

Atley ate malt-o-meal cereal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of "beef kabobs" (beef, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms), ate whole wheat toast, and pineapple. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was squatted down in the middle of the sidewalk watching school kids walk home.  Avilene saw her squatting there and ran to join her.  Not too much to say about this picture except for the fact I think it's adorable!! In this next picture Hudson was holding a mirror in front of Atley's face and he said, "This is Atley."  Ha!  These are some new mirrors I got; one side magnifies and the other side distorts!  (Hey!  Just trying to start them off with a good self-image! Ha!)
