Atley - 12/27/2017

Atley ate most of whole wheat toast and ate mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of ground beef with marinara sauce on whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate most of squash, and ate her fruit salad.

Yesterday afternoon Atley spotted a crow flying by and said, "More more more..."  At the same time she's making the sign for "more."  Haha!  That made me laugh.  Sorry, but there is only one bird at the moment!

Also, this first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley and Avilene were sticking their faces in the "sinks."  These are little stainless steel bowls that I used for the sinks and I think this started because they can see their reflection in the bowls.  And then they were both sticking their faces all the way in there!  Speaking of Avi and Atley, they picked up this morning right where they left off yesterday.  Running back and forth across the room; from the gate to the mirror over and over.

Yesterday there were only two kids here; today all five are here except there will be no after school kids.  Kenzie and Riley are at the Grandparents Farm because of no school this week.  Nora was so cute when she arrived and so excited.  Here are a couple pictures of Nora and Atley playing on the mattress and then in the igloo.  (Atley is in the igloo and I like how Nora's legs make a perfect "U" shape!)

Atley ate whole wheat bagel and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger pizza with whole wheat crust, tomato sauce, olives, peppers, mushrooms, and pineapple. This isn't just about Atley, but I think you'll like it.  At the breakfast table when everyone was just about done eating Avilene started whipping her head side-to-side really fast and furious - just being a goof and showing-off!  Nora and Atley were laughing hard of course and started doing the same thing, squealing louder every passing second!  I told Avi, "Hold your head still please."  Hudson never misses an opportunity to add his two cents worth, and he followed with this; "Or your ponytail will fall out!"  haha!  (The fact that Avi didn't have a ponytail was apparently irrelevant!) Atley - 03/11/2021

Atley ate whole wheat English muffin and mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. I'm not exactly sure what brought about the conversation about our "heart," but Atley informed everyone "I know when your heart breaks." Oh really, when is that? "When you're NOT in love." Then after a few moments she added; "When you die." :) Today was Science with Lauralea and the kids were super excited as always. The theme was "our tongue" and "taste buds." Lots of tasting today! As you can see in the first picture we had a partially completed (ha) diagram of the tongue and we briefly told the kids where their taste buds are located. Atley - 9/29/2017

Atley ate malt-o-meal cereal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of "beef kabobs" (beef, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms), ate whole wheat toast, and pineapple. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was squatted down in the middle of the sidewalk watching school kids walk home.  Avilene saw her squatting there and ran to join her.  Not too much to say about this picture except for the fact I think it's adorable!! In this next picture Hudson was holding a mirror in front of Atley's face and he said, "This is Atley."  Ha!  These are some new mirrors I got; one side magnifies and the other side distorts!  (Hey!  Just trying to start them off with a good self-image! Ha!)
