Atley - 10/4/2017

Atley ate bites of whole wheat toast and ate her mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate some of her whole wheat spaghetti noodles, with ground beef and marinara sauce, bites of squash, and ate most of her fruit salad.

In case I forget to mention this to everyone tonight:  I have a Doctor appointment to discuss the results of the MRI tomorrow morning at 10:30 and Lauralea is covering for me.  The Blog may be somewhat later, but most likely it will Post around the same time.

Here's a funny note about Hudson this morning:  Nora was going up the steps to the blue balance beam, but not going quite fast enough for Atley.  Atley started patting her on the back (not hard) and Hudson obviously didn't like her doing that.  He said, "Nooo, noooo!!  That's Nora!  That's my brother!!"  Haha!

In the first picture we had some music going and these two clowns were spinning and dancing!  I'd never seen Nora spin before and she was going for it!!  Atley was doing some serious rock-n-rolling  and spinning as well!  Two cuties!!  Ha!

Here are some more pictures from this morning's activities: Atley reading her book - upside down of course!  Lauralea was also doing some reading during Story Time so that was fun.  In the last picture I got out the jack-o-lantern, plugged it in, and just like that I'm decorated for halloween!  Ha!  (Actually it's pretty much true.  That's it folks!)

Atley ate whole wheat bagel and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger pizza with whole wheat crust, tomato sauce, olives, peppers, mushrooms, and pineapple. This isn't just about Atley, but I think you'll like it.  At the breakfast table when everyone was just about done eating Avilene started whipping her head side-to-side really fast and furious - just being a goof and showing-off!  Nora and Atley were laughing hard of course and started doing the same thing, squealing louder every passing second!  I told Avi, "Hold your head still please."  Hudson never misses an opportunity to add his two cents worth, and he followed with this; "Or your ponytail will fall out!"  haha!  (The fact that Avi didn't have a ponytail was apparently irrelevant!) So we're hearing new words every day from Atley!  Very cool.  This morning shortly after she arrived she was playing in front of the igloo and randomly said, "tiger." What!?!  Surpr...

Atley ate whole wheat English muffin and mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. I'm not exactly sure what brought about the conversation about our "heart," but Atley informed everyone "I know when your heart breaks." Oh really, when is that? "When you're NOT in love." Then after a few moments she added; "When you die." :) Today was Science with Lauralea and the kids were super excited as always. The theme was "our tongue" and "taste buds." Lots of tasting today! As you can see in the first picture we had a partially completed (ha) diagram of the tongue and we briefly told the kids where their taste buds are located. So we started by having them plug their nose and experimented with them deciding if they could taste better with their nose plugged or unplugged. Then we moved on to lots of tasting. "Is it sw...

Atley ate malt-o-meal cereal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of "beef kabobs" (beef, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms), ate whole wheat toast, and pineapple. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was squatted down in the middle of the sidewalk watching school kids walk home.  Avilene saw her squatting there and ran to join her.  Not too much to say about this picture except for the fact I think it's adorable!! In this next picture Hudson was holding a mirror in front of Atley's face and he said, "This is Atley."  Ha!  These are some new mirrors I got; one side magnifies and the other side distorts!  (Hey!  Just trying to start them off with a good self-image! Ha!) There were several robins in the yard when I took these last two pictures.  The robin in the first picture hopped down to the ground and Hudson said, "He fell off!"  Haha!  Robins are one of the more "calm...
