Atley - 10/3/2017

Atley ate bites of whole wheat bagel and lots of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate some shrimp, a large serving of brown rice, no stir fry vegetables, and ate raspberries.

This first picture is from yesterday afternoon when Atley jumped off the BLUE balance beam for the first time.  This may not seem like a big deal, but up to this point she was just going off the YELLOW end pieces.  They have to get more distance to land on the mattress and it's another achievement!!  Well done Atley!  And she was proud of herself!

Several weeks back I posted a very similar picture in this same setting!  Well, as you can see these two are still doing the identical same thing after EVERY meal!  So cute.  Atley is almost always done before Nora and she has to give her "five" every time she passes.  And Nora is always waiting for it!  Seriously, they NEVER miss a time of doing this.

Nora REALLY likes to drag stuff along behind her as she walks.  In the picture below she has an apron from the dress-up clothes.  The problem with that is this:  It offers the perfect opportunity for someone, and in this example it is Atley, to grab it and harass Nora!!  Atley grabbed it, then she was intentionally stepping on it!  The motivation behind this kind of behavior is usually just to get a reaction!  And as you can well imagine, Nora was giving her a reaction on Steroids!!  Haha!  Yelling and Screaming!  Ok, Atley quit terrorizing your good friend!  Haha!

Atley ate whole wheat bagel and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger pizza with whole wheat crust, tomato sauce, olives, peppers, mushrooms, and pineapple. This isn't just about Atley, but I think you'll like it.  At the breakfast table when everyone was just about done eating Avilene started whipping her head side-to-side really fast and furious - just being a goof and showing-off!  Nora and Atley were laughing hard of course and started doing the same thing, squealing louder every passing second!  I told Avi, "Hold your head still please."  Hudson never misses an opportunity to add his two cents worth, and he followed with this; "Or your ponytail will fall out!"  haha!  (The fact that Avi didn't have a ponytail was apparently irrelevant!) Atley ate whole wheat English muffin and mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. I'm not exactly sure what brought about the conversation about our "heart," but Atley informed everyone "I know when your heart breaks." Oh really, when is that? "When you're NOT in love." Then after a few moments she added; "When you die." :) Today was Science with Lauralea and the kids were super excited as always. The theme was "our tongue" and "taste buds." Lots of tasting today! As you can see in the first picture we had a partially completed (ha) diagram of the tongue and we briefly told the kids where their taste buds are located. Atley - 9/29/2017

Atley ate malt-o-meal cereal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of "beef kabobs" (beef, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms), ate whole wheat toast, and pineapple. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was squatted down in the middle of the sidewalk watching school kids walk home.  Avilene saw her squatting there and ran to join her.  Not too much to say about this picture except for the fact I think it's adorable!! In this next picture Hudson was holding a mirror in front of Atley's face and he said, "This is Atley."  Ha!  These are some new mirrors I got; one side magnifies and the other side distorts!  (Hey!  Just trying to start them off with a good self-image! Ha!) There were several robins in the yard when I took these last two pictures.  The robin in the first picture hopped down to the ground and Hudson said, "He fell off!"  Haha!  Robins are one of the more "calm...
