Atley - 10/10/2017

Atley ate most of waffle and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate baked chicken and ate whole grain tortillas, no cabbage, and no baked apples with cinnamon.  I've posted pictures of Nora and Atley exchanging "fives" as Atley walks by after she eats.  Well sometimes (and today was one of those times) Nora will just sit there and look at Atley and make Atley wait for the hand slap!  (She's totally just toying with her.)  However, Atley doesn't care one little bit and she'll just wait until Nora gives her five.  Atley is so sweet!  And Nora's facial expression says, "I'm just too cool for words!!"  Haha!!

NO BLOGS TOMORROW!!  Just wanna make sure everyone sees that so I'll put it in bold capital letters!!  Ha!  Lauralea will be covering for me when I go in for an EMG test at 1:00.  (Right after lunch and during nap when I'm usually in the middle of working on Blogs.)  I may as well take time now to also mention some upcoming dates when Lauralea will be covering for me as well.  (You'll get another reminder later.)  I'm going to Louisiana to see my Daughter and her Husband during Thanksgiving week and I'm so excited and thankful for this opportunity again this year.  I'll be leaving Friday morning about 10:00 November 17th and returning the following Friday November 24th.  Lauralea will cover for me on the 17th, 20th, and 21st.  (Reminder: Little Treasures is closed Wed - Friday for Thanksgiving.)

Here are some pictures from this morning's activities.  In the first picture Hudson, Atley, and I built a block house and they were having fun playing with it before anyone else arrived.  In the 2nd picture Atley is trying hard to jump and she's frequently now getting both feet off the floor a tiny bit.  And I think it's primarily from lots of practice jumping on the mattress.

In the last two pictures we did some coloring with markers on coffee filters.  Then we spray them with water and watch the colors run.  They dry up and are really quite pretty!!  Alley's art is in the picture and on the bottom left-hand side.

Atley ate whole wheat bagel and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger pizza with whole wheat crust, tomato sauce, olives, peppers, mushrooms, and pineapple. This isn't just about Atley, but I think you'll like it.  At the breakfast table when everyone was just about done eating Avilene started whipping her head side-to-side really fast and furious - just being a goof and showing-off!  Nora and Atley were laughing hard of course and started doing the same thing, squealing louder every passing second!  I told Avi, "Hold your head still please."  Hudson never misses an opportunity to add his two cents worth, and he followed with this; "Or your ponytail will fall out!"  haha!  (The fact that Avi didn't have a ponytail was apparently irrelevant!) Atley ate whole wheat English muffin and mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef, two servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce. I'm not exactly sure what brought about the conversation about our "heart," but Atley informed everyone "I know when your heart breaks." Oh really, when is that? "When you're NOT in love." Then after a few moments she added; "When you die." :) Today was Science with Lauralea and the kids were super excited as always. The theme was "our tongue" and "taste buds." Lots of tasting today! As you can see in the first picture we had a partially completed (ha) diagram of the tongue and we briefly told the kids where their taste buds are located. Atley - 9/29/2017

Atley ate malt-o-meal cereal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite or two of "beef kabobs" (beef, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms), ate whole wheat toast, and pineapple. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was squatted down in the middle of the sidewalk watching school kids walk home.  Avilene saw her squatting there and ran to join her.  Not too much to say about this picture except for the fact I think it's adorable!! In this next picture Hudson was holding a mirror in front of Atley's face and he said, "This is Atley."  Ha!  These are some new mirrors I got; one side magnifies and the other side distorts!  (Hey!  Just trying to start them off with a good self-image! Ha!)
