Atley - 7/11/2017
Atley ate whole wheat bagel and grapes for breakfast. For lunch she ate shrimp, brown rice, maybe a bite of stir fry vegetables, and a bite or two of mixed berries.
I have a story from this morning when we were outside, but it's slightly gross for you more sensitive ones! :) It's one of those "you had to be there" stories, but I'll try to set it up! We were on the patio and there was a moth on the concrete floor. So I grabbed the camera because the kids were starting to gather around it and I wanted a photo of them examining the bug. I was ready to snap the picture and just then Atley marched through the middle of the circle and squished the moth. She didn't have clue it was there, but stomped directly on it. Oh man, for some reason that hit my funny bone! Ok, so much for our bug lesson of the morning! :) The kids just wandered off while I scooped up the mess.
As I've mentioned several times Atley is fitting in so well at Little Treasures. She's quickly learned and loves our many routines. (And believe me, in a Child Care setting you do routines because it works!! So true!) So now I'm primarily working with helping her develop more social skills; not something we're born with!! Ha! (When working with infants and toddlers social/emotional is the primary focus.) She kind of likes taking Hudson's toys and I believe it's because of the reaction. She doesn't want the toy, doesn't want to play with it, she just watches to see what he'll do. (Very typical and age appropriate.) Once this morning she grabbed a toy he had and ran across the room. :) It's a game!! The phrase I use every day with all the kids; "Find a toy no one is playing with." Another time Hudson was covering his dolls with some blankets and she laid her legs across the blankets and just looked at him. "What do you think of that?"
In this first picture Nora and Atley were pitching the legos out of the drawer and Hudson was putting legos into the drawer. He said, "I cleaning up!!" Haha! Good luck Hudson! Avi was putting the legos fence pieces together and doing quite well with it. The last two pictures are from the kids playing this morning and being busy little people.
